"What a mess. Choose a different sleep clinic if your insurance will allow (or the VA as in my case). First, comments about the front desk are legitimate. One worker has no idea what she is doing on their computer system and another is very rude and ends up standing over the other's shoulder telling her what to do while "relaying" between you and the one on the computer When I saw Dr. Puri for my initial consultation, he was particularly rude. When describing the cabling and sleep study procedure I made a "hmmmph" sound, and he got bent out of shape that I was laughing at him and told me if I thought he was being funny he would just cancel my appointment and send me back to the VA "to deal with". I literally had my hands in the air begging for forgiveness, that he had misunderstood me just to get him to back off from telling me to leave. I only made the sound because I was visualizing the process in my head and it was just a natural reaction, I was simply thinking about it. When I did show up for my study, they were not expecting me because, you guessed it, the front desk messed up and had scheduled me for for the right date ... NEXT YEAR. The tech said they would have to call to reschedule me, which they didn't, but I did FINALLY get them to answer the phone and reschedule me, but it took calling practically nonstop for two days since I didn't want to bother leaving a voicemail and it not being returned as others have experienced. During my sleep study, according to the VA instructions, they were supposed to monitor at least 120 minutes of sleep and move on to a second phase with a mask if I showed signs of apnea. I was never woken up for the second half, my study was over before 4am and the tech said I didn't show any signs of apnea, snoring or low O2 concentration, so no need to do the second half. The report they provided to the VA said I did have apnea, excessive limb movement, low O2 and snoring, but they only ran the test for 118 minutes of actual sleep, and didn't do the follow on part, so the VA is now tossing the results and I have to redo it, but I will have to wait to do it with the VA now, for which there is a 6 month wait. At my follow up appointment with the clinic, when I asked about part of my report that talked about lots of limb movement the report said I had (something my referring doctor asked me to talk to them about) I was told not to worry about it, if it was restless leg, I "would know". When asked why they only ran for 118 min and didn't do the mask portion, it was because I ran out of time, despite that they ended the study before 4am. They then hand me the printed report, and it has somebody else's photo from a different sleep study on it. I asked why the report had my name and someone else's picture, and there was no explanation other than to blame the tech for it. I have no idea if it's even MY data or the man's whose picture is on the report and if he is running around with a report with my picture and data Finally, after my appointment, on my way home, I get a call from the clinic. Hoping they figured out some mistake they made, I reluctantly answer and they begin asking about my next appointment without even verifying who I am. I told them I don't have another appointment, they asked my name and when I told them they just said, "wrong person" and just hung up on me. This place is a disaster. Do not go here if at all possible."
"I've only been here twice but the front office is very kind and helpful. Doctor Puri is friendly and exceptionally thorough. He explained to me some health information in a way I could easily understand about something that could affect my health. I had no idea about it and I had never heard this information before and I read the take home papers he gave me explaining further the health info. No pressure, no judgement, only information and education. I'm so thankful that this doctor knows his stuff."
"Well, this was fun. So, I was offered Community Care (because of extended wait times at the VA) for a sleep study so I could get a BIPAP machine. So, I made the appointment which was scheduled for 12/1/23 at 8:30 PM at 5310 N La Cholla (Pima Heart and Lung). I thought it was kind of weird that I never received a phone call to confirm my appointment as we got closer. So, on the day of my appointment (12/1), I took the initiative and called them myself. The lady on the other end said that yes, my appointment was for tonight at 8:30 and she would let the staff know that I called and confirmed. So, I show up at 8:15 and ring the bell and speak with Martin who apologizes and says they are all booked up! All booked up!? I tell him that I had an appointment and even called the same day to confirm. He apologized some more and said last Friday they didn’t have anyone there. I ask him if they overbook in case people don’t show up and he said yes! Seriously! It took me 40 minutes to drive there and 40 minutes to drive home. Not to mention planning my entire work schedule around it… and I CALLED TO CONFIRM! Sheesh. They didn't even have the curtesy to call and tell me they were all booked up! And how is it that I show up early at 8:15 for an 8:30 appointment with 10 cars in the parking lot and they are already all booked up? I mean... what time were those other peoples appointment for? Looking at the reviews, I'm not the first person this has happened too. I tried to call "Andrew" the office manager to complain, and was told he would call me back which he never did. The front desk girl "Maria" wouldn't give me his direct number running smoke for him. The VA should not use this place!"
"I have to be honest the Doctor's and medical staff are great but the front desk is atrocious! Well mainly Maria. They never call back, the telephonic options never take you to what you want and she's rude a lot of the times you actually do talk to her. She lied about technician availability to get me to reschedule my study from Monday, July 17 to Wednesday the 19th, which I did. I showed up two days later and the tech (AJ, who is awesome by the way) said 1) there were no patients scheduled and 2) the patient who had been scheduled "me" had no authorization. I had double checked with the VA the same day (the 17th) my study was rescheduled to confirm my authorization was valid. So she basically forgot to input my appointment then lied about my not having an authorization and she didn't take accountability of it. She tried her best to not answer her phone, but would return the techs text messages. She finally called backed when she was told I was at my sleep study and that I was refusing to leave without it being done. Of course she found it after saying "let me check" but was prepared to tell me to come back another day. Doctors are 5 ⭐, Maria is 1 ⭐"
"I re-arranged my life for a sleep study...changed both work and vacation schedules. I had a sleep study appointment for over a month. I drove an hour and a half...90 miles each way from my home to the center. I got there at 8pm for my 8:30 appointment. I was then told everyone had already checked in and there were no beds available...sorry, have a good night! I called the admin office the next morning and was told they don't know how 1) they overbooked the beds, and 2) why I was the one to get sent away. My pulmonary function test appointment was similarly screwed, but at least they rescheduled that before I made the 180-mile round trip. The office staff is great at making appointments, but they apparently have no clue what it takes to follow-through and follow-up. The Doctor may be good, but the staff and services are not. I would not recommend any new patient to go there and would tell the insurance companies to stop recommending them."
