Reviews of Valley ENT - Green Valley
"I have been coming with Valley Ent for over a decade now and have never had an issue before, until now. I had surgery in November 2023 and had a relatively small balance (couple hundred). I had been paying weekly, if not, biweekly. As soon as I had surgery those payments had to be split up between the surgery center and the physician. However, I never once had a late payment. I went to a follow-up appointment at the Green Valley location with Dr. Fisher and I was greeted by the most unprofessional receptionist I have ever encountered. I checked in and immediately, CARD ON HAND, stated that I wanted to make a $50 payment towards my balance. She took my card but stated that I NEEDED to make a payment plan (the surgeons bill kicked in, increasing my balance). I was confused and questioned why, if I had been making payments. She stated that patients with late outstanding balances needed to, and that whoever had been taking my payments “must have not known what they were doing” and handed me a sticky note to a collections dept. I called the number, got a voicemail and left a voicemail. I then politely told her I left a voicemail and immediately got a call back from Melissa, she is the kindest person ever. Melissa looked into my account and stated that I wasn’t even flagged for collections or a past due payment so she was going to mark my account “verbal payment plan” I then inquired more information, for my knowledge. The MA then proceeds to call me when ANDREA, the receptionist, basically jumps from her chair and tells the MA that I am unable to be seen unless I pay my outstanding balance in full or make a payment plan. At this point, Andrea broke my hipaa rights as she was announcing my balance and reason why I wasn’t able to be taken back to the whole lobby. I am now extremely upset because 1, she could have called me a day before and explained this situation, 2, she refused a payment (who refuses payments from a patient?) 3, she was refusing my appointment and now was past my appt time. I call Melissa back and explain that Andrea is refusing service and she is NOT accepting my verbal payment plan and is now trying to have me speak with someone from corporate. I refuse to speak with corporate because I am speaking to the person Andrea told me to! Andrea has an unprofessional smirk this whole time, which is completely disrespectful. The poor MA is stuck in the crossfire and is trying to help, but Melissa did the great work and asked them to refresh their screen and finally, I was taken back approximately 25 minutes past my time. I still make my payment, except now, with Melissa. The MA goes on and explains how they have a very strict, new office manager that is making all these “new rules” which I could care less about, my issue was my hipaa rights not being respected and the way Andrea handled this situation. I spoke with Carey, the office manager. She was kind, and stated that she’s “never had any complaints towards Andrea” however, she did state that she was new. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that Andrea was speaking loudly enough for everyone at the lobby to hear my balance issues, how Andrea refused my payment and was refusing my service. She must think she is a supervisor but there was zero respect and zero professionalism. I appreciate the call from Carey. I just hope she takes the necessary actions as HIPAA should be taken very seriously. After I am done with this issue I have, I might look for another office as I refuse to be embarrassed like that again."
"Concerns Regarding Recent Experiences at the Office Writing a review. I am writing to share my recent experiences at your office, which have raised some concerns. I would like to emphasize that my intention is not to criticize but to bring attention to certain issues that may impact the overall patient experience. Yesterday, I visited the office to request the transfer of medical records to another doctor for a second opinion. While I was there, I witnessed two patients one right after the other, a situation where the two patients were informed, they had the wrong time for the appointment and were asked to reschedule. This incident, combined with a similar experience shared by another patient who had faced this issue twice now, prompted me to reflect on my own encounter. All three of us. Were told we had the wrong time for the appointment. And we needed to reschedule. It seemed like a recurring issue, and I find it hard to believe that the three separate incidents are merely coincidences. I had assisted a patient who had been waiting for two months for an appointment, and we also encountered a discrepancy in the appointment time. Despite the inconvenience, we were determined to see the doctor due to the patient's severe breathing issues. Fortunately, Dr. Ray was able to see us and provided thorough assistance. However, he referred the patient to another doctor, Dr. Emami, as the issues were beyond his expertise.. My concern deepened when I returned the next day to request records for yet another doctor. I encountered a language issue with one of the forms and politely requested, I reside in the USA and would like an English version. Unfortunately, Trish, the other staff member who was not assisting me, became rude and nasty. . Over asking an English copy over a Spanish copy. Despite the presence of another helpful colleague, Trish and another woman who can in escalated the situation by canceling all my future appointments and those of the patient I was assisting. Moreover, Trish's behavior, characterized by her easily getting upset and being consistently rude, raises concerns about her suitability for a public-facing role. The office manager, who joined in the rudeness, failed to address the situation properly. Without inquiring about the circumstances, she participated in canceling appointments and made derogatory comments about my lack of not having my glasses so I could read the paperwork she had given me. And as soon as Trish started being rude, I turned my phone on and taped the entire conversation. While my interactions with the doctors have been satisfactory, the recurring issues with appointment scheduling and the unprofessional conduct of certain staff members, particularly Trish and the office manager, detract from the overall positive experience. I believe it is essential to address these concerns promptly to maintain a high standard of patient care and satisfaction. The silver lining in this mess was they gave me the patient medical records that were needed. I was able to fax it out to the Doctors that will be taking care of the patient at Banner. Luckily, there’s more than one doctor in town. And thank God we can put reviews So other people will not have the same experience we have received."
"Last year I went into the GV office for my appointment. I was behind a gentleman that was told his appointment had been cancelled and a message was left at his home phone. He explained that he had not received a message. When I checked in for my appointment I was told the same thing. I checked my voicemail when I got home and there was no message. Today, after waiting 6 weeks for my appointment, I was told that my appointment was at 12:30 not 1:00 and I had been written in as a no show. This simply is not true, I wrote the time and date in my calendar as I repeated what I had been told. A woman who was checking in her son told me that the same exact thing had happened to her. She said she had refused to leave and told the receptionist that she would wait, her son was having terrible symptoms. She then followed me outside after I left and explained that the receptionist had been terribly rude to her and that the office staff had a history of this bad behavior and that I was not the first patient to be treated this way. I'm not sure what is going on with the office staff, but there is no excuse for this behavior. The Office Manager and Doctors should be made aware of what is going on in their front office."
"My elderly mother was treated poorly at 2 different attempts to be seen. The office staff didn’t see the need to tell patients how far behind they were running. Their response “if you want to be seen, then wait”. Absolutely unacceptable."
"Dr Blume is a great doctor, and I would recommend him. However, he is completely overbooked and the staff will not keep a cancellation list. When I was having 3-4 nosebleeds per day, they offered me an appointment 1.5 months out. After electro cautery by Dr Blume, I developed adverse effects, infection and fever. Called to get help, was told no available time until over a month later. Staff would not schedule me with another Dr because I had started with Blume. Don’t bother calling this group if you have any pressing health issues."
