Western Arizona Family Practice - Fort Mohave

"I am accusing the medical staff of Wester Arizona Family practice of Elderly Abuse, racial audio violence against me, an elderly retired person on a pension. Here is what happened on Friday, February 10th 2023. I called for an appointment on 2-08-2023 to refill a prescription of tamulosin for my swollen prostrate. I explained very clearly that I was completely out of my medication and I needed to obtain a refill. I told her I would pay in cash. I was told the fee is 75.00. An appointment was set for 6:00 pm on Friday 10th. On Thursday at 9:30 am, I received a sms text with an appointment at 1:00 pm. I didn't even see that one. They called on the 10th and asked if I make the appointment at 3:30 pm instead of 6:00, and arrive at 3:00 pm to fill out paperwork as a new patient. I agreed. I arrived at 3:00 pm, & filled out the required documentation for my appointment. I waited until 4:00 pm and asked the attendant secretary if something was wrong because my appointment was at 3:30, and it was now 4:00 pm & I was in pain. Immediately, her manner became extremely aggressive. She walked away. An assistant arrived with no lower teeth, and asked to come back to examination room, and started yelling at me and accusing me of yelling at her front desk receptionist. I explained to her that I didn't yell at her, and she was in fact very aggressive towards because I asked for help. She screamed and yelled at me and demanded very aggressively that I leave. I was shocked by her aberrant behavior. As she was yelling at me with bulging eyes & veins popping out of her neck, the toothless gap in her lower teeth was spraying spit all over me. I left as quickly as I could. As I was leaving, I told her she was very rude, and should fix her teeth if she works with patients because she can spray sputum on them. I went to the front desk on my way out and asked for my 75.00 to be returned. She called the Police. She was trying to get an elderly patient arrested for visiting the clinic. Four officers arrived from the Sheriff department, detained me for asking for prostrate medication. I asked the Sheriff to please force them to return my money. I told the Sheriff I was afraid she might be on "crystal meth" because a symptom of meth abuse is rotting of a person's teeth. The Sheriff's department was so kind to force them to return my money immediately. The Sheriff's department was very helpful and very kind to a suffering elderly physically sick man. They did a great job of helping me force them to return my money back quickly and safely. This clinic practices elderly abuse. The staff are extremely unprofessional & lacking medical empathy for sick people."

"Showed up for my appointment at 11:15 am on the dot of when they scheduled me to show up (I have text confirmations telling me my appt is 11:15) but was turned away from getting any help because apparently I was supposed to arrive 30 minutes early to my appointment WHICH NO ONE INFORMED ME OF. I was denied my appointment with no wrongdoing of my own. Front desk gals were NOT kind to me regarding the situation and offered me zero help. They basically rolled their eyes and looked put out by having to do their job at all or help me. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING considering I showed up for my appointment on time, even with my 4 month old baby which is not easy.. just to be turned away and denied from receiving any help."

"Super disappointed that this practice has gone down hill so much. I was scheduled for a 7:15 appt. In the past years I would have been in and out and at work on time at 8:00am. I arrived at 7:00 when they were unlocking the doors. Asked the receptionist if I could be billed for my copay because I don’t get paid until Friday. They were going to refuse to treat me because I couldn’t pay that day. I ended up charging it to my credit card which I would have liked to avoid. Checked in for my appointment early. Didn’t get called into a room until 7:46. The medical assistant looked unprofessional wearing slippers and dirty scrubs and he didn’t crack a smile once. Sat in the room for another half hour before finally at 8:15 the provider walked into the room. How does a practice get an hour behind in the first hour of the day? Was really disappointed because I send people to this clinic all the time and I typically rave about how fast and efficient"

"My mother had an appointment and was turned away for no legitimate reason after waiting two weeks for the appointment while in a great deal of pain. My mother had proof that her insurance would cover the appointment and the rude receptionist wouldn't even discuss it. Where is the compassion? Where is the professionalism? Non existent at this place."

"I walked in about a week ago, the nice lady told me I could pick up the paperwork to fill out a day before I came in. I'm a new patient and I needed to fill these out before being seen. Due to online schooling and my job, this made it a lot easier on me. As I currently don't have insurance since I'm new to the area, they assisted me and gave great information to all my questions. They were very friendly, helpful, understanding, and fast! I felt comfortable and would definitely go back. I will recommend this clinic to all my friends, family, and co-workers. Thank you to all the staff for being amazing!"
