"Dr. Root is a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen. I was in his care for two nights during which he sent out a stool sample of mine for testing. 3 weeks later the state health department of Arizona called me and told me I had salmonella. It was confirmed to me when I went in several days later and saw another doctor for a follow up that he had neglected to review and share my test result and it only got reviewed because I came in after speaking to the health department!!! A little over 3 weeks after the sample was taken!!! He also belittled me and made me feel guilty for coming in after I was released until a CT scan and some measurements said I was still sick. He also never really informed me about how sick I was! Overall I would never want to be treated by him again!"
"Dr. Root saw my young adult daughter. He was dismissive and rolled eyes at her concerns. Sent her out of the office in tears... back to her summer job (an hour away). She was certain she would die of an allergic reaction before she could get to the hospital. He said she should just keep benadryl in her purse and did not need an epipen, she should just get an epinephrine shot if the benadryl didn't help within an hour... ignoring the fact she works an hour from the hospital. Angry momma (5 hours away) makes some phone calls and suddenly my daughter has her prescription... while he claims he offered her one and she refused."
"The one star I was forced to award him offends me to my core. The only doctor I have ever disliked in any degree, and in fact I loathe him to my core. Condescending, dismissive, and inattentive. I have heard from multiple people that he is known for doing his job poorly, and I think they give him too much credit. After seeking a follow up visit, as his diagnosis and prescriptions did nothing to abet my symptoms, this charmer walked into the room and said the following verbatim, "I already treated you for this, so what do you want me to do." I responded with, "I would like you to help me. Actually, take one step to the left." This puzzled him. He was standing directly in front of me and I repeated the request. He took a step to the left. I stood and walked past him, leaving the hospital without any aid what so ever. Then he started asking questions about my condition. I was irritated at that point, so much so that I needed to leave before I did something stupid. Hypocratic oath my ass."
