Reviews of Southwest Behavioral Health Center
"It's a great place sometimes you have to give some time with your medication to work I tried before bed and it wasn't working or in the morning then i tried 4 hours before sleep and it finally after a couple months if you are on medication and everything is going good that means don't stop taking cause it's working. Also share your goals and maybe sign up for duo diagnose class.. I'm in the mental court and I enjoy how much I have grown in those classes you have to be willing and open minded on the therapy sometimes they know what they are talking while you getting frustrated about overwhelmed about the busy schedule you have but long run it's skills that you can cope to remain sober and cope with your emotions since they play major role on relapse and making bad decisions"
"So I was a patient and resident in Saint George for 12 years. And I was a patient with southwest for a 4 to 5 months and that was a year ago. I just recently moved right out of state in mesquite Nevada their neighbor state and I called them to see them again. And because I went just barely a year ago I would need to start my process like a new patient which was fine then she said since I have Nevada Medicaid I would have to pay out of pocket. Which I understand I was fine with too. BUT now because I’m a resident now in mesquite I can’t not be seen? Even though I have been a resident in Saint George for years and I am 25 miles away from Saint George closer then any other city to us? I am not accepted as a patient?? The thing is the doctors were very caring and understanding also knowledgeable. I really need them at the moment and I can’t not be seen because I moved I do not count as a person in need of a service even though I will not be getting insured I will be paying ??? Yeah I think they need to set their priorities. If someone needs aid and willing to pay how are they not as mattered as a resident ? Ridiculous. Also their front desk needs to step up or get fired. They are very unprofessional every time I went they were rude. Even on the phone. Just being honest here it’s not hard to be kind and if it is then find something else because there is a lot of other professional people who would love that job and do it oh so well."
"The only good thing about this place is ADRIANA, that woman really loves her job and loves her patients. It was difficult for 6 years to find someone who would perform a miracle for my now teenage daughter until ADRIANA came into our lives. I appreciate what she did for my daughter and for what a wonderful human being she is. THANKS."
"They gave my information to IDX so they could solicit me. I don’t know how they got my information. IDX said I was a former employee. I don’t remember ever working for them. They can’t find me in their records so not sure how they got my address. I don’t appreciate my landlord seeing me get mail from a mental health center since we share a mailbox, it’s embarrassing."
"Therapy here is.. less than ideal. I have OCD and my therapist tried to do ERP with me, even though he was not trained in it. This caused my OCD to get worse and I developed more obsessions and compulsions. I recommend doing therapy at S&S counseling, they are a liaison office with SWBH so if you have to do therapy to see psychiatry there, it will still work. Adult services has been good medication wise, I’ve been able to get medication that helps me and was able to get an ADHD diagnosis. My biggest issue with my psychiatrist was that when I brought up wanting to be tested for Autism, he said “you can’t be autistic, you hold eye contact and can maintain conversation well.” Mind you, my mom and brother are both diagnosed with ASD. I maintain eye contact and conversations because I’ve learned how to mask after 18 years of doing it. The psychiatrist seemed to still believe that Autism is very black and white, and because I’m AFAB and appear high functioning, my symptoms aren’t taken seriously. I also brought up the many symptoms I have of OSDD. Instead of hearing me out for ASD and OSDD, he said I most likely have BPD, which I know for a fact to be incorrect. If you need a doctor to help with ASD diagnosis, or testing for dissociative disorders, go somewhere else."
