He has the perfect balance of instruction, discipline and training! My daughter has grown so much under his leadership. I struggled to find the right activity that lends to her natural abilities. I tried soccer … Fail. I tried Volleyball … Fail. I tried so many activities that wasn’t the right fit for her. That was true until I enrolled her in ATA. She looks forward to every class. She is committed and as a result we are also committed to her excelling in this craft. This is the perfect fit! I see her growth every week! The school reinforces the values we share at home. "Owner is very passive aggressive and her assistant or partner is just aggressive. They like to yell at you for asking questions. I asked if they’re doing any classes for their nunchucks and the owner said yes. I changed my mind and asked to buy a bat because the Nunchucks looked intimidating and her partner comes from behind her and yells “didn’t she say we are doing nunchuck classes?! You should buy the nunchucks!!” I already bought my bat from the establishment so I left and never came back for any classes. She is very rude and angry. I only came back to pick up my pre-order bat. Never coming back after that."

"This review is long overdue. In August 2021, my husband and I signed our then 5 ½-year-old daughter up to take classes at this location. At the time, we lived in Laveen, and we've since moved to Avondale, and let me tell you, the drive is worth it. Fast forward, my husband and I are now students. I signed up in August 2022; he did in January 2023, and we love it! We also love the friendships we developed with other parents, who are also students. We spend a lot of time there with our children, so why not sign up and be active too?! The instructors are fantastic, and the activities for all age groups are superb. i.e., ninja night, Thanksgiving workout, spirit week, Mother and Father's Day workout, to name a few. Master Martínez gives insightful and thoughtful life lessons to consider at the end of class as we cool down. Mr. Martínez is very helpful and calm; he is detailed in his teachings. Mr. Kong-Sivert and Master Wilcox are awesome instructors; the kids love their energy. Mrs. Olivas, makes sure parents know about upcoming events and constantly remind the kids/teens to thank their parents. She acknowledges parents' hard work and dedication to our children and the school. As she says, Taekwondo is a journey, and we as parents are on that journey with our children by being at every practice, every tournament, every graduation, etc. The appreciation and recognition for parents from staff and instructors is top-tier! Overall, this school has lovely staff, instructors, and a good community of parents. Our daughter is now 7 ½ years old and has come a long way in her training. She wants to be both a veterinarian and a Taekwondo instructor someday. She is now a red belt, and we look forward to the day she's earned her black belt."
