"What a gem! Visited Tucson for my daughters graduation and wanted to find "unique" locally owned shops...well, this is the place to go! Seriously some of the best shopping I have ever experienced in any of our travels!! Beautiful housewares, furniture, antiques, decor, handmade items, etc. We went through every store and each was exciting in and of themselves! Bought a beautiful Catrina doll at Rustica. Rustica is probably my favorite store I have ever shopped at! They have gorgeous one of a kind furniture, accessories, lighting, pottery, artwork, and gifts. Lost Barrio shops are a must see!"
"It's a neat little area with beautiful & unique furniture options. The only downside is the gentrification aspect. I get it, suburbs are O-U-T and historic urban areas are in. But the upper middle class quest to urbanize should be careful to protect mixed income status of areas. Stop pushing us out to your no-longer desires suburban areas that are so heavily car dependent."
"Great shops! Fun things to buy and look at definitely. Very expensive .."
"I got the MOST beautiful purse at Lost Barrio Gallery. I get stopped at least twice a day with a compliment by strangers and asked where I got it. I'm also a crazy furniture person and I have seen the most unique and quality pieces on their floor. If you haven't been there, you need to stop by!!!"
"The other day the baby and I were just driving around and stumbled about this part of Park that I totally forgot existed. We parked the car and perused each store. Not sure, which ones we walked into as they're next to one another but we were greeted by Matilde a beautiful, brindle pooch. She was so sweet and totally loved on the baby. Matilde even plopped herself on the wood floor (in her store) and let the baby scratch her belly. We found lots of great, prideful and handmade works from furniture to everyday decor in each store we wandered through. We found our personal favorites- Catrina figurines. Seeing them throughout made the baby so happy, she was happy to see a beautifully framed, colorful painting of a "calavera family." In most of the shops, pictures are prohibited unless you obtain permission as the contents of the stores are full of one-of-a-kind items. The parking is on the street and it free. We also noted a small cafe in the Lost Barrio but it appeared to be closed during the time we went (Saturday mid-morning). There were signs on the street indicating that there was an estate sale out of a warehouse but were unable to see it as the baby finally got fussy. But, I do have to say that her attention was held for about an hour and half of just browsing these intriguing and beautiful findings!"
