"located in the old barrio section of Tucson. A memorial with a number of different legends. One legend is that a young son had an affair with an older woman and he was then killed by the woman's husband. No way of knowing the correct story but this has become a memorial that people visit, leave flowers, prayers written on small pieces of paper and inserted into the stone walls. Not worth a special visit, but a few minutes spent while visiting the barrio area is worthwhile."
"It gives a flavor of the Barrio Viejo history. Not worth a special trip, but obligatory if doing a historical walk."
"Small unique spiritual site with a shrine to pay respects to those who’ve passed tragically. This spot has some historical significance and an interesting story behind it."
"I have been visiting EL Tiradito Shrine since the 80s it’s always been a very special and sacred space always and every time I visit. I have celebrated many peoples life’s there though out the past 40 years personally. Have left many notes in the walls, many candles, photos and prayers. It’s always been a very comfortable outdoor place I have years and years of memories there. It’s casual and sacred all at the same time"
"Strange and interesting historical place. Lots of personal gestures and monuments to people that have passed recently. The paintings and the old well were unique. A quick stop here to take in some of Tucson history is well worth a visit while touring the city."
