This park holds a special significance as it was a place where the late Michael "Mike" Dawson, a renowned athlete, spent his childhood playing football. Dawson, who was born in 1953 and passed away in 2008, was a standout player at Tucson High School and the University of Arizona before being drafted by the NFL. After a successful nine-year career in the league, Dawson returned to his roots in Tucson. Visitors to Bristol Park can enjoy a peaceful retreat while also honoring the legacy of a local sports hero.
