Valle Verde Ranch

"The Valle Verde Ranch was a great spot to soak up some warmth & sunshine before heading back home to Alaska for winter! There were three different patios to enjoy the sun throughout the day, plus a pool to cool off. The “back four” was great for walks through the mesquite trees scoping out birds, & there was easy access to the Anza Trail for walking, running, & biking. Downtown Tubac is just a short walk from the Ranch & other trails in the area were a quick drive away. Our room (Cabot) was large & comfortable, staying cool throughout the day & warm at night when the temps dropped. The kitchen had plenty of space to prep food & hang out while cooking. We also enjoyed the check-ins from the hosts, Doug & Jane, & appreciated quick history & birding lessons they gave us. All in all, it was a super relaxing & pleasant stay, & we’d recommend it to anyone looking to check out the area!"

"The Ranch was nothing short of spectacular! From the beautifully appointed Casa, which was charming, immaculate and so comfortable, to the interesting, desert-scaped grounds which my dog and I had fun exploring, my only regret is that our stay was too short. I look forward to returning to Tubac and hopefully the Historic Valle Verde Ranch again soon. Owner Kelley deserves a special shout-out for acting as my 'GPS' in the dark the night we arrived. "My husband and I had such a wonderful 2 night getaway at the Historic Valle Verde Ranch. The property is full of charm and history and our accomodations - Norm's studio - left nothing to be desired. The bed and bedding were wonderful...loved the pillows! The decor was so tasteful and the small but very well-stocked kitchen met our needs perfectly. There was a Keurig coffee-maker, half and half, kitchen staples, everything we needed. The ranch borders on a large mesquite bosque that takes you to the Anza Trail and the Santa Cruz River...with water flowing!! (Those from AZ know that is not the norm for rivers around here...they are typically dry riverbeds.) Kelley was as nice and helpful as can be. There are many patios and courtyards to sit and enjoy a good book...or nap in the hammock. We can't wait to return!"

"I spent a relaxing five days in Norms studio and then moved into the ranch house for my last day of my stay. The setting of the ranch is so peaceful: boarding on the Anza trail; walking distance to the historic town of Tubac; and the lovely pool and patio. The ranch house is stunning with all of its historic pieces throughout and lovely areas to sit and relax watching the birds, providing everything a guest could wish for. The hosts were also very helpful and informative on the area. I couldn't give a higher recommendation."

"One of a kind type of place. The ranch house holds so much history and you can just feel it walking through the place. The grounds are very well maintained and the path through the mesquite forest is incredible. It feels like you're on a safari honestly, with all types of birds chirping and flying through. There is so much to do at the ranch: swim in the pool (I hear they are adding a hot tub soon!), play pool in the great room, enjoy a book in the courtyard or walk the labrynth under the stars (a must do!). It's also just a 10 minute walk to Tubac's main drag, close enough to enjoy a couple Wisdom's margs and find your way home! The hospitality of the hosts Kelley and Nancy makes you feel right at home. Definitely going to come back! I highly recommend!"
