Reviews of Zen Head Spa
"This is the text I sent to my best friends: OMG! That was probably one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I’m just leaving the Zen Head Massage Spa and I can’t tell you which part of the process was my favorite. It was one of the most nurturing experiences I’ve ever had. Probably better than any massage that I’ve had recently. Even better, I lucked out. No one was there. I had the whole spot to myself. I saw Maria. She was amazing! Perfect match for me - allowed me to enjoy the experience in peace and was so kind."
"Had the 50 min head spa treatment done by Darryl. Highly recommend the service and the person. Extremely friendly and gentle, accommodating to any discomfort you might feel depending on any sensitivities. I definitely felt and saw a difference in my scalp and hair after the service. The buildup was 99% gone immediately after. There is one room with all beds in a row (I think there were 4-5) which means you could be sharing the room with other customers. Would be nice to have the option to separate by curtains but overall not bad, especially because everyone knocks out within ten minutes from how relaxing it is. The wall separating the room and waiting/blowdry area is thin so you could hear conversation or air blowing but again, everyone knocks out anyway :) With the head spa treatment, you have the option to pay for a blow dry service or dry your own hair after. You also have option to leave with your hair wet. All that you need is provided (towels, brushes, blowdryer). Do this service and you won’t regret it! Recommend scheduling in advance. I was lucky to get in myself for just being in town for business. Would absolutely come back here next time. Thanks, Darryl!"
"Awful experience. There's no door between the spa room and the hair styling room, so if anyone is getting a blowout you'll hear the hairdryer during your whole treatment. If the client and stylist are chatty you'll hear them shouting to hear each other over the noise too, very relaxing. The massage itself was fine until the water turned scalding hot...I like a hot shower but it was so hot I instinctively recoiled to avoid getting burned. According to the massage therapist, when there are too many clients at once there's not enough cold water. Shouldn't they schedule fewer clients instead of burning people?"
"If you have THICK and/or CURLY hair, do NOT schedule a 35 minute. Also, comb your hair BEFORE you go. This was my first time at a head spa and I thought it best to try out a shorter one to save money and test it out. If you want a thorough scrubbing I guess it’s a good bet. But I honestly felt like my hair was being yanked. And it was not combed once."
"Very underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. I paid for the head spa treatment (50 min) and the add on facial massage (15 min) and although the facial massage was amazing, the rest of the experience fell flat for me. I arrived 5 min prior to my appointment and they took me back 15 min after my appointment time (fine, i get it, people run behind), but I did not realize until after I had left that I started my appointment at 545 and I was out at 635 so I paid for 65 minutes and was cheated out of 15 minutes. The head spa treatment was a glorified hair wash at best. There were multiple times where she stopped for at least a minute at a time and since the room was cramped, I kept having to move my feet for people to get by. Very hard to relax and I felt like the scalp massage part was a rough hair wash and not relaxing at all. For $130 with tip, it is not worth the price and would probably not come back."
