Reviews
"We stayed at Little Old Wine Drinkers Winery as part of the Harvest Host RV program. The property was easy to pull in, had plenty of room, and the hosts (Steve and Sue) were very welcoming. The wine was great and we enjoyed the stories behind how each different variety of wine was created."
"I was a guest to the wedding held at Little Old Wine Drinkers. When we arrived I was blown away by the beauty of the sunset, the mountains, and the vineyard. The weather was great and the atmosphere was romantic, It was a perfect day for a wedding! When we went inside, there was a huge crowd lined up to sign the guest book in the bar area, before entering the back. I quickly got in line and waited my turn to sign. While I waited the owner Stephen introduced himself to the crowd, We were told there was wine available (free drinks on the invitation) so we assumed it was free…until he asked for $7 a glass after we took it. I was in the middle of telling him I was the sister of the groom, as I was paying (just introducing myself and making conversation) and Stephen rudely said “it’s still $7” We paid the $14 for 2 cups of wine and walked in to back deck area a little confused, but excited to see my brother marry the love of his life! After a short wait, they started the ceremony. It was beautiful, and so romantic but Stephen married them, he seemed off at the time. He was already slurring, and tripping over his words throughout the ceremony, even having to pause at times. They treated the Groom and the Bride as if they were an annoyance after the ceremony. I watched as the Bride was ignored after asking for her first drink of the night, long after everyone else had been drinking. It was awkward to watch, this was HER special night and she probably asked about three or four times while they looked right at her, with this annoyed stare... as if they couldn't hear her, before they finally got her a drink. It seemed like they were ignoring her on purpose, or just too drunk to move. The owner Stephen was acting inappropriately to say the least, and in so many ways. He was very obviously drunk really early on in the evening, uncomfortably flirtatious with multiple women, he was asking for cigarettes from people, and then later on in the evening, (in the middle of speeches) loudly yelling at and accusing people of stealing his cigarettes when most of us knew he never had any in the first place! Great venue not so great owners. I won’t be back or recommend. The Bride and Groom deserved a lot better treatment on the most important day of their lives!"
"I had flown in from out of town to go to a wedding that was being held at this winery. I was so excited because I had read the reviews online that this place was a great winery and that the owners were very nice people. It was even a fun adventure to find this place, down a dirt road, the sun beginning to set, the beautiful orange and yellow horizon as the sun was setting. When we arrived, we were told that there was an open bar but when I went to go try a glass of wine, the owner rudely told me to turn back around and pay for the glass and that they don't do 'open bar' options. She wasn't even nice about it. She snapped at me. Then all throughout the wedding, the other owner was telling people to go sit down. We were just trying to take family pictures of us on the 'stage' in this beautiful setting which is normal at a wedding. After the official ceremony, we had dinner and family introductions. All throughout the introductions and congratulations speeches, the owners were yelling and laughing off to the side, so loud that we couldn't hear anything but them. When asked if they could be just a little bit quieter, the owner snapped at us, telling us that we should be speaking closer to the mic. He was so rude about it. He yelled it from the back of the outdoor area where we were eating. One of the owners was really drunk by the end of the night and everyone could tell because he was slurring his words as he yelled at us. He was belittling people all night long. This was such a low-key wedding with some of the sweetest people so I don't understand where the owners attitude came from. No one was rude to the owners. No one was disrespectful to them or the place. No one deserved to be talked to like the way they talked to us. It was as if they were mad that they were hosting a wedding. Never will I ever go back to this place or recommend it to anyone."
"We held a wedding here. Out of 10, I rate the venue a 3. The positives are: a beautiful location and nice outdoor deck and gazebo. The wine isn't bad, but I had a few glasses on an empty stomach without feeling a buzz, so I questioned the amount of alcohol content. Besides the owner of the venue being difficult to work with, the venue needs major improvements. First, the deck has so much potential, but there is no lighting there for evening activities. All of the dancing and events should have been held on the deck area. Having the events under the patio felt tacky to me. Speaking of under the patio, there was a crazy amount of bugs that decided to join the party. I guess that's bound to happen during an evening event. Several of us have left the venue with lots of bug bites. Holding a wedding here was extremely difficult since we were providing everything with so many rules and restrictions we had to follow. I don't know why the bottles of wine we purchased were held hostage in the wine tasting room, forcing the guests to go there to get their drinks. The wine should have been served to the tables. The wine was supposed to be free to the guests, but they still decided to charge some by the glass. I'm just glad I won't be going back."
"Little Old Wine Drinkers has the potential to be a great venue. The sunset views were spectacular. There was not enough light so the dance floor was extremely dark. Fighting off the bugs was also a nuisance. The owner/ proprietor Steven is very difficult to work with. He refused to allow photographers to use at their discretion parts of the house for photo shoots. The wedding party was forced to squeeze behind a bed for group photos. Prior to the day of the event Steven was asked repeatedly if we needed to provide ice chest and water or soft drinks. He indicated he had all of that covered. This is not the case. Guest were left with nothing to drink unless they drank his wine. Later I was told that there was water but it was hidden behind the bar in the tasting room. Luckily the brides father supplied water after hearing of the water being held hostage. The owner was Steven also said he would provide the Champagne for the speeches. Well, it wasn’t until the Maid of Honor completed her speech that we realized no Champagne had been distributed. Steven had been given a copy of the event itinerary so he should have known to be prepared. When the photographer asked to speak to the officiant, I located Steven in the tasting room promoting his wine. I told him the photographer needed to speak with him and he told me he would after he finished what he was doing. We also found out that guests were being charged for their drinks when we had already agreed to purchase the wine. Steven said it was a misunderstanding that he thought I was purchasing the wine for my personal use. Steven spent most of his time promoting his business rather than making sure the bride and groom had a great experience. When it was time to clean up it was almost like being evacuated for an emergency. Once the table and chairs were stacked up, Steven turned off the main light source leaving the DJ practically in the dark to collect his equipment. I do realize Steven offered his home for the wedding and it was very generous or was it? I believe Stevens whole intention was to promote his business. His sarcastic comments were not appropriate and in some cases down right rude! I was so embarrassed and upset that I left in tears. I would not ever recommend this venue for any purpose. Sincerely, Mother of the Bride"
