Tool & Truck Rental Center at The Home Depot

"Absolute garbage. 3rd time I've rented or attempted to rent a trenches from this store. Every single time they have an attitude. The first time, they hooked up the trailer, which they're apparently not supposed to but they did. It unhitched leaving their lot. They argued with me for a half hour that they couldn't help, I was just across the road. Second time I rented a wheeled trencher and it leaked oil like a sieve, constantly stalled, probably from low oil and they couldn't care in the least when I just informed them of the issue. This time I called ahead to make sure they had a tracked trencher. They told me they had a ton. I get there there's 3 in the lot. I go into rent one. They tell me none are available. I wouldn't waste your time. You might get lucky, but that's what it will be. Luck."

"Rented a Penske 12' truck online - was easy. Truck pickup took much longer than expected. Staff was courteous but unprepared and truck was not ready at pickup time. I ordered pads, but they were not there. I was told to call Penske home office in a few days to get a pad refund. I was also told Penske usually never provides pads, even if you order them. Same with the dolly. So bring your own blankets, straps, rope, and dolly. When returning, the keys dropoff is in a yellow box in a hidden alcove outside. No one was at rental booth even though it was 2 pm I had to ask around. The tool rental side door said not to use on the inside as it is an employee only door, the customer would never know about the return box on the other side in an alcove as customers only come in the main home depot entrance."

"Well, Home Depot screwed us over again. We ordered two pallets of travertine pay for it in full plus delivery and schedule it for two days later delivery. We had to call and find out why the delivery didn’t come and that’s when they told us it was rescheduled for two weeks later. We were unhappy but they said there was nothing they could do about it. On a date it was scheduled to be delivered the second time, we got a phone call instead. They sold it to someone else. Resold it! They offered no help, and the lady even yelled at my husband for him being upset. Horrible customer service!"

"Was in the process of buying a rental piece of equipment and the service gentleman told me I would have to wait because they serve the customers first. Not sure what that made me, but was disappointed in the customer service. I will still come back because they are fair with prices and out of convenience/need, but they could benefit from a service class or two."

"I've used this Home Depot several times from things ranging from power tool rentals to finding one of those types of light bulbs that you typically have to search the globe to find and each experience I have had here has been pleasant. Staff is knowledgable and friendly and they know where everything is which is a huge plus since I don't have to spend 20 minutes searching the store. In general I am very happy with this store and have nothing negative to say about it really."
