"Fairly bad experience. After waiting in line for about 30 minutes I was told to go to the key counter. The key counter was another 25 minutes and the person was quite unhappy with something about the reservation. Once finally got the car, it was in severely rough shape (picture) I'm surprised they rented it and that the tire actually held air. The inside of the car was dirty and again surprised they even rented us the car. Would not recommend."
"Rented vehicle for 3 days however due to weather conditions did not drive vehicle except when returning to Budget. After dropping off vehicle which indicated under 5 miles used, I received a Surcharge Fee for fuel. I was charged for a full tank of gas ($40) although the photo clearly shows the line - a mere quarter of a centimeter of fuel was missing…. Maybe $1.00. Scam! Avoid Budget in Tucson, Az this should be illegal"
"The people at Budget in Tucson are great. However, do not rent a electric vehicle as the Tucson infrastructure is not set up to accommodate electric vehicles at this time. I spent two hours looking for a charging station that was working, and not blocked by a conventional vehicle and finally realized, I needed to return my car and trade it for a gas vehicle. When I got back to the airport, the gentleman behind me was doing the same thing, returning his electric vehicle for a gas vehicle. This put the budget personnel in a difficult position as they had "no cars" remaining. This whole experience was caused by ME...not Budget. I take full responsibility for the time I wasted on my vacation. I rented the "special" which is always the least expensive and can include electric vehicles. I appreciate the help the Budget agent and manager provided me in exchanging the electric car for a gas vehicle. Thank you for saving my vacation by changing out cars. Thank you Budget for trying to be environmentally friendly. However, the Tucson area is NOT SET UP TO HANDLE ELECTRIC VEHICLES AT THIS TIME. Please do not waste your vacation time, looking for charging stations. Don't be economical (cheap) like me. Rent a gas vehicle or you will be using your valuable vacation time looking for charging stations."
"Waited 1 hour for the van because it wasn’t ready at my scheduled pick up time. The van had food trash left in the back from the previous renter. It also had damage on both sides of the van and the sliding door only working 1/2 the time. I filled the tank 8 miles from the airport but still got a $20 fuel charge."
"The SUV was a complete disaster, damage (not just scratches) on all sides of the vehicle. The interior smelled like an ashtray and the brakes were bad, almost down to the floor and screeching. It appears they wash the car but let the water dry on it, therefore, the water marks are so bad you can't see through the windshield. After a long day of air travel, I had to have the car replaced. To have a car like this in their fleet is just bad management. I have rented from Budget in other locations with no problems. This location, in Tucson, AZ is the very bottom of the barrel in auto rental. I have used both Dollar and Alamo at this airport and never had this problem. Last time renting from Budget in any location."
