"Unable to add funds (load) to my Amex card due to "an employee lost the barcode so can't add funds at this time"... whatever that's the only reason I have to go to the store kinda inconvenient."
"I hate to say it, but the location on Country Club in Mesa is terrible, they have nothing in stock and everything is really overpriced, it is maybe .50 cents cheaper than Target or Walmart. The employees don’t seem to be thrilled that they work there or even have a job. I will not be returning."
"Great customer service, various items, just a little higher the a 99 cents store"
"Picture it: You drive into the parking lot to see dumpsters piled high, overflowing into the parking lot. The sidewalk, rocks, basin, and lot are littered with debris: liquor bottles, water bottles, cups, cardboard, clothes, paper, styrofoam, etc. You park trying to avoid the sticky sludge on the ground as you get out. The ground doesn't look like it's been swept, blown, or sprayed with a hose in years. The filth is beyond what you want touching your shoes and then walking into your house with! As you approach the front entrance, it doesn't improve... Bottles, fast food trash, and signs of sleeping are literally 4 feet from the front door. You walk into the store to see an employee talking on her cell phone, obviously about some customer who tried to steal something. She drops her voice slightly as you walk in, but she's otherwise completely engaged in her call. You walk the perimeter seeking a quick grab item only to realize many aisles are dangerously blocked by carts which are mostly empty and half stocked piles of boxes which need to be finished. The aisles are narrow and stacked high toward the ceiling with backstock, but the hanging hooks are generally empty. There is a feeling of claustrophobia, clutter... almost like a hoarders house, and carelessness. As you walk toward the front, you hear the cashier, who is obviously the only employee onsite laughing and gossiping confirming the thought that it had been a social call the entire time. She checks out 2 employees one handed still on her call and gives you the stink eye every time you glance at her. You loop around thinking you should probably buy something, or perhaps talk with the manager. But no, if the woman is the manager, she obviously doesn't care. If she's not, the manager isn't here. So you think better of it, and simply leave. Honestly, I just dropped in here with my daughter to grab a couple of cheap laundry baskets. Even that wasn't possible. The only laundry basket on the shelf was a white cheap plastic one with a broken handle priced at $7. The situation is rather sad. Before family dollar was built here, the neighborhood brought up concerns... They have become true on every level despite promises made... See for yourself. Drive by. Walk in if you dare. For my part, I believed there are only two options. Either the neighborhood should band together and demand it be cleaned up, or we should all boycott it and put it out of business. Honestly, I could walk up and put a closed permanently sign on the front door and on the street and no employee would even notice."
"I visited last night and found the cutest cookie jar and salt and pepper shakers (owls) I have the matching toothpick holder and spoon holder in my kitchen already. I was so excited and as they were on the clearance shelf I was even more elated! When I got to ring up I all of a sudden couldn't buy them at all according to the clerk Michelle said she would get fired if she sold them to me??? Why were they on the shelf then? Dirtiest trick ever!"
