"UPDATE: The salon reached out me and were extremely kind and understanding. They not only offered me a full refund but also a complete redo with another technician. I just left the salon and am so happy! Caroline took care of me today and she was so nice and also super talented. She actually cut my cuticles and her polish application is amazing. The pictures with a lighter pink polish are the redone nails. As you can see, a world of difference! OLD REVIEW: The salon is super cute and has a great atmosphere! Unfortunately, the tech that I got today was not very good. Jasmine seemed like she did not want to be there. I kept trying to make conversation but she was not interested. In the description of the service I booked, gel mani, it says it includes cuticle work which was what I was most interested in. I got no cuticle work done at all. She also filed after she had put the top coat on which breaks the seal and makes the gel more prone to chipping. She didn’t use any acetone to clean up the gel on my cuticle, just her nail. She would dig her nail into the sides of my nails and wipe the gel off even though that left some gel residue on my skin. The salon and the receptionist were amazing but my service today was not worth it. :("

"I really love this nail shop! I haven’t found a place that does my nails this well since I left Los Angeles. What makes my experience even more amazing is that the nail tech named Von is super sweet, considerate, professional, and amazingly talented!! And I recommend that you see Von for your nails because she is artistically talented. I truly assumed that she was a visual artist outside of work because her artistic intuition is so naturally in tune. Every time I go out, I get numerous compliments on my nails. I think I get a compliment on my nails at least like five times a week which says a lot. Not only is she extremely talented but she’s very efficient. I don’t think I’ve ever had my nails done by someone so well and I’m usually in and out in an hour. Anyone who’s busy and wants high-quality work she’s your girl! If you’re looking for a nail salon that provides a down to earth vibe, a sense of community and top-notch nail design then this is your place! Plus there’s a reward system that’s unheard of in the nail industry!"

"Slain Studios is the place to be! I’ve been rocking with Von (Viva La Von Nails) for over nine years now and wouldn’t have it any other way! She doesn’t miss a beat, my nails look flawless every single time, are consistently complemented, and she always does her best to find a time slot for me (in case I messed up and didn’t pre-book)! Plus she always finds a way to spice up my neutral looks and bring my ideas to life! Right now we’re on my natural nail journey and I’ve never been happier! I’ve been a client of hers for the majority of her career and have followed her over a few moves. Not to mention, I drive all the way from San Tan Valley to see her, so you know her work has got to be good! Another one of my favorites is Erika (Shorties Nailz)! She does a killer pedicure and her attention to detail is bar none. Book with her if your feeties need some love! Slain Studios itself is one of the most chill and relaxing nail salons I’ve ever been to! The aesthetic is perfect and the vibes are always right. Plus they have Crete Tea Room next door now, so none of my services are complete unless I have my iced oat milk matcha latte with agave! And since they’re a one-stop shop studio, my services are often (just ask my husband and his credit card)! LOL! "I have been going here for almost a year now and every time I go to Von. I’m a male client (obviously) and have been apprehensive to get my nails done for fear of judgement but Von always works with what I’m comfortable with and allows me a safe space.
