"I had a bad experience with a dentist before finding Dr Skinner and with the 5 teeth I had to have taken out he made the experience good. He is a wonderful Doctor that works with you as a patient and above all as a person not a number or dollar sign. Thank you"
"I found Dr. Skinner around 7 years ago from a "fear of the dentist" google search. I was looking for someone who was patient and understanding about fear of the dentist. I had two root canals, and also to have a wisdom tooth and a difficult to clean crooked tooth pulled. I have the same situation (crooked plus wisdom) on the other side, but I could never bring myself to go back to Dr Skinner. Despite the google search leading me to him, he is not particularly patient nor understanding of a dentistry phobia. Yes, he offers nitrous oxide for anxiety, but heaven forbid if you realize a minute in that the mask over your nose is yet another source of anxiety. I heard him say to my husband something about "if she ever let's me do the root canal!" Like dude, I'm struggling here. Give me a minute... He had asked my husband at that visit if he'd like to come in during the procedure, only to tall him sto stop staring him down. Not sure where else he was supposed to look. The ceiling? Horrible, anxiety-worsening bedside manner. After that was over, I decided I was done with dentists forever. My remaining wisdom tooth and crooked molar are starting to hurt now, and I'm realizing my plan of just never going to a dentist again won't work. So now I'm going to do a more thorough search for dentists who specialize in dental phobias, because what I'd love more than anything, after extractions and scaling and whatever other horrific and invasive procedures I need, is to start going in for run-of-the-mill exams and cleanings. The good things I will say: his actual work is good, and he calls later in the day to see how you're doing. But if you have anxiety, shop around first."
"Dr. Skinner had been my dentist for over 10 yrs. & now no longer wants me to be his patient due to a disagreement over extracting my tooth a week ago. He referred me to an oral surgeon but I could not get in to see him until next month. The toothache became extreme & yesterday I went back to see Dr. Skinner. He refused to pull the tooth due to my anxiety & disagreement with him at our last appt. I was in tears in pain & he gave me a few more oral surgeon referrals & then I left. After my husband & I called several oral surgeons from the parking lot while I was in terrible pain we finally found one that told me to come right over. I had to wait a couple of hrs. to be seen but finally this nice dentist was able to successfully extract my tooth with the help of nitrous oxide which I had also asked Dr. Skinner to use for my anxiety. Dr. Skinner was confident that he could extract the tooth with no problems at first then changed his mind when he saw I was having some anxiety over it. He said he did not want to chance me possibly yelling in pain & disturbing other patients in his office. He also said that he didn't want to chance the extraction possibly not going well & me writing a bad review & ruining his overall 5 star rating on his online reviews. Turns out the extraction went very smoothe & don't understand why Dr. Skinner was not willing to work with me instead of sending me away while I was in so much pain. He also complained that I never followed through with his treatment plan. It would have cost me around $5000 out of pocket to fix all my dental problems which I do not have at this time. It appears that he cares more about money & his reputation than the care of his patients. I do not recommend him to anyone!"
"I went to Dr. Skinner's office for the first time today and had a great experience. He was not quick to diagnose 16 cavities that needed to be filled, he took time to get to know me, and he gave helpful preventative tips. The office staff was professional and very helpful with insurance. The dental hygienist seems a bit overbooked but was very nice and thorough with the cleaning. She seemed very skilled. I will definitely be coming back!"
"I have gone to Dr. Skinner for years and have been completely satisfied with all the work done on my teeth. Plus, he is a very caring individual as is his whole staff. My son and my sister also go to this dentist and really like him."
