"Landed here on my way from Phoenix to Los Angeles and then again on the way back. Dillon was very helpful. Because my light sport plane has a Rotax engine and prefers auto gas, Dillon let me use the crew car to go buy gasoline 5 minutes away from the airport. Because I didn't buy 100LL and was allowed to use the crew car, I was more than willing to pay the $10 landing fee. I did not notice any cracks on the runway (I used 35) as mentioned by a previous reviewer, but the ramp has broken pavement so take it slow. I plan on flying this route on a regular basis and will be stopping here again. Thanks again Dillon and hope to see you soon."
"Rudest encounter I've had in 30 years of GA. Long hair guy in a golf cart with the biggest attitude about everything. Told me I wasn't making reports (despite making all of them And talking to a Lear about a chunk of asphalt popped up on the runway), - He had nothing but demands from second one of our encounter. The runway has major sized cracks and chunks missing. The ramp has military aircraft parked on it and no real signage as to where GA is supposed to park. The Lear even drove around a bit trying to sort out where to go. Just a dump of an airport, with an attitude problem."
"Nice small airport. The British royal army are here training"
"Ctaf, open till 4pm on most days for flight sch students who's keen on cross country flight. Good enough."
"Nice Large Airport for practicing. Good cross country training distance from San Diego, LA, or Phoenix and super easy to spot from the air. If you stop and stretch your legs, be aware there is a $10 landing fee if you do not buy gas. The gas is relatively cheap, so it is an easy charge to skip. UNICOM was kind enough to answer on our inbound call, and confirm there was no other active traffic."
