"The quality of tacos is lacking and doesn't match up with the price, sadly. $6-$8 bucks for a smallish, sub-par taco?! The barbacoa was more like a sloppy joe: messy, sloppy, and seasoned more like taco meat. Went mid-week during their "1/2 off lunch tacos, 12 to 1pm" special and got 4 tacos and 2 beers with my bf. We ordered during the 12pm-1pm time frame, but since he closed his tab after 1pm, we're thinking that's why the 1/2 lunch price wasn't honored? He paid full price, total being $48 incl'd tax and 10% tip. Pretty irked that the server didn't think to mention that to us or honor the price. We're both price conscientious and 50% off is a huge factor considering the tacos are not that great. You can get tastier tacos literally ANYWHERE else in Tucson for what their "lunch special" price is. With that said, the server is really nice, (we should have gone back to ask how it was charged but didn't want to inconvenience her)... great ambiance, good vibes, beautiful day. Really cool spot! I just don't remember the food being that bad and honestly I went back this 3rd time just for the vibes and bc the bf wanted to go. Sadly, can't afford to eat there anymore!"
"The dulce vanilla beer was quite good, considering I'm more of a sour guy, but they were out when I arrived. Indoor seating fairly limited. Parking also limited. It wasn't clear to me whether it was allowable to park in front of the other businesses that are nearby, even if they've closed for the day."
"I love this spot, but over the last several months the quality of the food has dropped and the price is just doesn’t match the quality of the food. The nachos specifically are a joke. They’re charging market prices without providing the quality that drives the market. It’s frustrating and more lazy UofA standards."
"Cool chill hang with good food. Wife says the drinks are good as well. Parking can be a challenge."
"Excellent Beers, Food and Outdoor Patio After visiting the Downtown Taproom, I had to try the new taproom in the Sam Hughes neighborhood. While they do offer some food, I just wanted to try some beers. We sat outside in a nice patio area, but as the desert air cooled off, we retreated inside to a cozy space with comfy couches, chairs and tables. I had to start with the German Chocolate Cake Porter that is just that - that famous, tasty cake in liquid form at 7.3% ABV. Absolutely delicious! I then had the Noche Dulce Vanilla Porter also at 7.3% ABV. Great vanilla aroma and flavor. I got in my dark beer fix and visited someplace new - a perfect evening!"
