"I had been wanting to try this place for awhile now because I love sushi and they had really good reviews. I went t during lunch time and ordered their High 5 Premium Lunch, which consisted of 11 pieces of nigiri and a 5 piece roll. I had to ask the server what kind of roll it was and she stated spicy tuna. It didn’t have the vibrant red color I expected but yep did taste like spicy tuna. The nigiri pieces were very generous. I especially enjoyed the scallop nigiri. I would go back just for that. The server was very courteous and provided excellent customer service. She even gave complimentary miso soup to everyone in the restaurant which was unexpected and appreciated. For what they charge, I do think they should automatically include miso soup as part of their lunch and dinner specials. It’s a clean restaurant with a nice casual vibe."
"We were skeptical to found a Japanese restaurant where is quite far away from our home. At first, I didn't expect too much quality of the food, but to my surprise, the sashimi deluxe plate was very fresh, and the yakisoba and the Japanese seaweed salad were also delicious, that's definitely worth coming back to try more dishes."
"Hi 5 is a bit of a hidden gem in Chandler. This was the best sushi I've had in Arizona, possibly the best I've had anywhere. We went for dinner and had a couple of kinds of sashimi, tuna carpaccio, and about six different sushi rolls. Every item was prepared and presented beautifully. While everything was delicious, the tuna carpaccio, bluefin O Toro, and the Mobster Lobster rolls were out of this world. Prices were reasonable, all of the fish tasted incredibly fresh, and the service was exceptional. After our dinner, we met Tommy, the owner, who was very warm and just a super nice guy."
"I visited High 5 Sushi about a year ago because of the great reviews, especially one from someone who didn't even eat there, but noticed how happy everyone was from the parking lot. The reviews were no lie. The vibe is so good that each server I've known since then is happy and great to get to know (shout out to my newest friend Brooke). The food is insane. I've eaten at countless sushi restaurants around the country for the last 40 years (my favorite food) and I can promise that any Sushi lover will be glad they stopped in (be ready to crown this one your favorite). There are around 10-15 tables and there's always been one available when I walk in. I honestly can't explain that. The Tuna Tartare is a must if you like spicy tuna. They make delicious creative specialty rolls. The lunch specials (Delight, Special & Premium) are my new favorite thing to order (after my Tartare appetizer) and the "High 5 Special" is my go-to. You get a spicy tuna roll and 9 pieces of Nigiri although the menu says you'll get 7. I'll add pics of both."
"I wonder what the customers who gave five-star reviews said? Is this your first time eating Japanese food or have you eaten it several times? I came here to eat because I read five-star reviews. Unexpectedly, we were very disappointed. Five people ate raw food and only one person was given a serving of wasabi. There was no cold dish in it. A bottle of beer was $9 and a bowl of soy sauce noodles There is nothing else in it for $10, just soy sauce and noodles. At Mido Sushi, a bowl of noodles is $9.9, with a shrimp and tofu in it, and a bottle of the same beer is $6. This is the difference. We go back every Sunday for Japanese food and this is the stingiest restaurant we've ever had."
