"That was the most beautiful culinary experience that I’ve had for a long time. The steak tartare was chefs kiss! The tiramisu was perfection! I highly recommend that you run and experience this spot. I’m"
"Sel in Scottsdale is a culinary gem with a warm vibe, complemented by a genuinely attentive staff. Meeting the owners, May and Branden, added a personal touch, reflecting the passion behind the restaurant. The freshly baked sour bread was a delicious start. The Tempura Shiso Leaf with Chanterelle mushrooms was a delightful burst of flavours. The crab in a silky, buttery sauce with herbs was exquisite, and the hazelnut praline tiramisu perfectly ended an extraordinary meal. A must-visit in Scottsdale for an unforgettable dining experience!"
"We went to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted with amazing glasses of champagne. Our meal care taker Jamie was amazing to guide us with good options . But I must say the ambience is very average don’t go if you are looking for good ambience. The food was also fine . Pasta wasn’t very good so we were given a different order on letting them know about hard pasta. The service was no doubt super super awesome . We were taken care of very well. We were given $30 off for our anniversary which I appreciate a lot about this fine dining.. overall our experience was amazing. I feel it’s amazing place to visit and taste the food."
"Had a wonderful family dinner to celebrate a birthday. Got there a bit early and sat at the bar where Fernando mixed up some 'magic' for us. We all had the chef's tasting menu with vine pairings. Surprisingly everyone agreed the vegetarian tasting stole the show, so original and flavorful -even the 'carnivores' agreed. Wines pairings were nice but we'd just get a bottle of a favorite if we do this again. A Uber is a must with the wine pairings-hearty pours!"
"I had high hopes for this place. I love chef tasting menus with wine pairings and I have come to expect excellence from restaurants offering that experience. Especially at the price point of Sel. However, other than the welcoming staff, we were very disappointed. My food was so heavily salted I was physically ill later that evening. My dining partner also tasted far too much salt on my food & some of theirs. I couldn’t get the saltiness out of my mouth for a full 24 hours. I’m pretty sure the pasta dish was main the culprit, as my guest couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites. We left the serving dish full of pasta. Our filets were over seasoned but, not nearly as much as the pasta. I would expect someone to be tasting the food, before it goes out. We didn’t have dessert as our palettes were over worked trying to rid the saltiness and no palette cleanser was offered. Which was again unusual for a place that wishes to be an elevated dining experience. The decor of the restaurant is pretty. Modern and quite a small dining room but, I didn’t feel crowded. The large portable air codifions did detract from the overall ambience but, I’m assuming this isn’t the norm. Overall, a less than desirable experience. We won’t be going back, as Arizona has better options. For a “Michelin” esq experience Cafe Monarch is far superior. Although even that isn’t Michelin level. And Wren and Wolf is also an excellent dining experience"
