"The food was good but nothing too memorable about it. First time there so maybe it was just one of those experiences! Serving sizes and the service were good but the beautiful lights strung along the walls could use a dusting."

"I think this may be the best restaurant in the world. I am not from Phoenix, but stumbled upon Don Jose day one of my stay. We sat down, 10 seconds later a bowl of warm chips was on the table. I had the green chili burrito, fundido style. The best burrito I have ever had. The food comes out screaming hot, piled high. the creamiest refried beans, fragrant rice, the tortillas are a texture you can only dream of. I love Don Jose, we had to come a second time. We also tried the enchiladas, chili relleno, fried ice cream, everything was amazing. The servers are so kind and helpful. Our server on our second visit told us this place has been here since 1963, and that they are known for their cheese crisp, an open faced quesadilla you can’t find literally anywhere else. I hope to come back to Phoenix just for this."

"My grandparents first started bringing me here when Tower Plaza was still across the street. I was sad when they first shut down but oh so happy when they reopened! I went a couple of times and the food was still so good and at a much better price than other restaurants. If I still lived in the area Id be going so much more! Food is great and my mouth is watering thinking of their hot sauce that comes with their chips."

"I went to Don Jose Mexican Food, and it was delicious! The restaurant had a cozy and friendly vibe. I started with their crispy chips and flavorful salsa, a tasty treat. I ordered their beef tacos for the main course, which were amazing. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, and the toppings were fresh. They also had yummy margaritas to go with the meal. The service was quick, and the staff was attentive. Don Jose is definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some tasty Mexican food in a welcoming atmosphere!"

"Great Mexican food but prices have definitely gone up since new owners have taken over. Chimi DJ style with rice and beans was $22 and cheese enchilada combo with rice and beans is $17 Food is definitely good, salsa is spicier, chimi is deep fried but also cooked enchilada style so it's not the traditional crunch and sauce was really good. Chicken inside tasted a lot like rotisserie chicken but was still very good. Service was great, food came super quick! Bill was $48 for the two lunch entrees and iced tea"
