Reviews of Prado Restaurant
"I've dined at Prado a few times as well as their bar, "M Bar." The food was remarkable & the service was spectacular. The food presentation was stunning, but more than just "looking" creative, the flavor combinations, pairing of ingredients & balance of textures was brilliant. I kept thinking, "This is Michelin-level food." I later find out that the Executive Chef did come from France where he was a chef in Michelin star restaurants. The ambiance of Prado is elegant but comfortable with soft Spanish instrumental music and a staff that is gracious & upbeat. The server, Chris, recommended the perfect tapas, starters, and main dishes. If Spanish food isn’t you top choice, there are so many choices on their menu that you would label All American or Italian. (*See photos.) "Albondigas” -meatballs on creamy polenta, tomato sauce with Jamón (like proscutto) "Vegan Seafood Pasta." -Pappardelle pasta & Spanish sofrito sauce (like Marinara sauce). I'd definitely have their Caesar salad with that. * "Hanger steak" - (Tender & more flavorful than Filet Mignon) with an orange Demi-glacé & "spring onion pistou" (Pesto). purple Pototo Mousselini (Purée) ceamy in texture & literal flavor * "Burrata & Heirloom Tomato Salad" - It's like an Italian Caprese Salad but so elevated! Their Filet Mignon is topped with a sauce called "Haron Whiskey au poive." (a cream sauce with a 12 yr old whiskey!) *PRADO burger. This is no ordinary bacon cheeseburger. Go for the Flatbread, if you're in the mood for "pizza." You can also sit right up by the fire-oven & dine. Caesar salad would be perfect with that also. The tapa "PATATAS BRAVAS" has 6 potato cubes (about 1.5" cubes) that are pan-fried (just like French Fondant potatoes, without the herbs, or Steakhouse fries) each with a slice of Chiorzo & topped with a dot of garlic aioli. Take the bite of each with some of the "Salmorra sauce" that's under them (which tastes like a slightly smokey, garlic tomato sauce) similar to Marinara sauce. Desserts: once again, elevated & not ordinary: Lemon Cheesecake with Bourbon Blueberries. "Crema Catalana" ... Crème Brūlée !"
"Adam, is one of the best bartender/waiters I've ever met. If there was an award for excellent service and movie knowledge Adam should win the award. One of the best experiences I've had in a long time and I travel all over the world."
"The restaurant is very beautiful with private booths and dining tables. It is decorated with beautiful paintings. The staffs were very friendly with kind hospitality. I went there for the restaurant week. Some dishes were hit and miss. The dish that I like the most was Valencia paella (not on the restaurant week menu). Striped bass base was seasoned very deliciously. However, the striped bass (both in the main dish and the paella has unpleasant smell. Gazpacho was a clear soup. I believe the chef wanted to make it refreshing to complement with cucumber and watermelon. It was interesting, but not my preference. The calamari battered fell off from the calamari and a bit oily, which was not my preference. I also preferred it to come with lemon as well because the sauce was very creamy."
"A stunning location! The Montelucia is architecturally beautiful with Camelback Mountain as a backdrop. Prado is so tastefully decorated and designed. A romantic spot for sure. It was very quiet which I assume is due to it being off season. The food at Prado is terrific. We were a table of 4 and started with your typical Cheese Plate, kindve tasteless Patatas Bravas which consisted of potato rounds and chorizo, and the delicious Croquettes De Jamon y Pollo. We also had delicious spicy brussel sprouts and meatball tapas. 2 of us had large plates, one Short Ribs which were perfectly satisfying. The Paella Valencia was loaded with chicken, clams, prawns, chorizo and veggies. Our Tartar De Santiago almond cake was delish and shared by all. Ric, our waiter, was terrific. He brought 3 wine tastings to choose from of which we had 2 bottles of Cab. All in all, my company was terrific and the restaurant was great however, very expensive. I'm at the point in my life that I don't need to spend $500 for a meal. My preference these days are the local, plentiful cultural joints. But if you're looking for ambience, romance, a 5 star delish meal with great service, Prado is it."
"My wife and I stayed at Omni for a few days and we literally came here 5 or 6 times. The breakfast is so perfect, each morning we would come in for some fresh fruit and mimosas. It really was the perfect place to set the stage for a great day. We tried a few things when we were here: the berries, the fresh fruit, 2 egg plate and the burrito. All of which were amazing and left us really full. We always left this place with a smile, because the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely make sure to stop by here for breakfast if you stay at Omni! I guarantee you’ll be back."
