Reviews of Tacos Calafia North Phoenix
"Good fresh food with ample salsa bar for tacos. Very large open dining room plenty of seating. Staff was busy a little slow to get order but were very friendly."
"The ambience is pretty good here, the best part of my visit... but it feels like they are in no man's land between being a take out taco joint and a sit down restaurant. Its the more authentic version of chipotle tbh. It's a big cafeteria like space. I ordered a Carne asada taco and an al pastor burrito. The sides/half the ingredients are diy in a salad bar thing in the dining area. This screams laziness like oh I have put half the stuff on my food myself? Eh. That's fine for taco but the flavor meld for the burrito was sub par. That would also feel like a chore for takeout I would end up with a bunch of little containers for the stuff that should already be on the food. The al pastor was too marinated. Just give me the meat sliced off the block! The asada was a bit dry... to be expected. I've subtracted one star only because I was waiting for a great bite of food. It never came it was only ok/ mostly good. I did find a black nasty piece in the al pastor it happens I get it. The "hot" salsa had an offness flavor to it... like it's mole sauce with some heat added, a little weird. Medium was OK. Green just ok. Seems clean and well run. Some little fixes and it's a 5 star place. If they had added one more nasty black piece to my burrito and it's 3 stars. Somehow it's a 4 star place but as I'm leaving I hesitate to say I will return."
"My Fiancé and I come here almost every week. They are always quick and it’s always a favorite to come to when family is in town! The food is great every time and the guacamole bar is always a hit among the in-laws. The gentleman at the front is always super friendly and upbeat, would recommend this place to anyone in the Phoenix area!"
"I love this place, their meats are very tasty and their spread of pico, guacamole is great. The place is clean, good service and fast. The only reason I didn’t give 5 starts is because their meat portion has decreased significantly for the tacos. Overall very good tacos tho."
"We were in the mood for tacos and decided to try this place since it's right down the street. It has super cute light outside the building, it would be perfect to sit and eat outside when it warms up some more. We went on a Tuesday, and they offer 20% off tacos. I got 4 chicken tacos, my boyfriend ended up getting 8 tacos. He tried all of the meats and said they were all amazing especially the al pastor. I love this place has a huge taco bar where you get get your own condiments, such as, limes, salsa (hot, medium and mild), guacamole, cilantro and onion. It's a generous amount of food for the price. I would bring family and friends here in the future. I'm glad we stopped by."
