Reviews of Biscuits Cafe
"Neighborhood favorite: Good for breakfast for 2 (I mean days, not people). The portions are still generous. We always have a carry-out box to enjoy leftovers at home. Veggie Head Omelet with "unsalted" hashbrowns and biscuits is a healthy, delectable choice. Pro Tip: Whatever you order -- include the biscuits. The best country-style biscuits outside of homemade!"
"It's too bad the restaurant has potential but if you cannot get the food out to your customers timely it's not good. Was in there twice within a week and both times the food takes way way too long. This last visit we waited 45 minutes for our food. The waitress came and apologized it was taking too long and brought a cinnamon roll because we waited so long. We ate the roll and continued to wait finally deciding to leave after four cups of coffee and the cinnamon roll. We told the waitress so I could pay for the coffee and leave. She said let me tell the kitchen and I'll be right back. She returned with the bill and said I'm charging you for the cinnamon roll because you have to understand I have to get paid also....I told my girlfriend lets go I wasn't paying for anything at that point and left. The audacity of the waitress to charge us for something we didn't order or ask for and was supposed to be complimentary since we waited so long. Oh and I forgot the waitress said the reason the food was taking so long was because they had a lot of to go orders!!! not my problem the management needs to step it up and not take to go orders to be able to serve the dining room timely, Done with this place."
"Just had a brunch date with my husband here. The food is nothing to write home about by any means. Just okay. I ordered the chorizo omelette which needed more cheese to hold the chorizo together, and the eggs were a very spongy texture that tells me they likely are not fresh cracked eggs. My husband ordered the stuffed French toast. Sadly it was not stuffed, but more like layered. Warm fresh toast with fridge-cold cream in between did not hit the mark. His eggs also had the spongy texture. We also shared the flavored coffee flight, which is pictured. This again was just okay. Plain iced coffee with some toppings to make it the flavor. Price to value just really was lacking as well for the flavors that did not hit the mark for us personally. Our server was nice, but we did have to ask for silverware and for items that the menu stated our order came with. I don’t think we would come here again to eat, but it was nice to try as we just moved to the area. I think we would rather find a more locally owned joint that is not a chain in the future."
"I threw a curve ball by ordering a hot Arnold Palmer tea. Ina (waitress) was all over it and came back with all the fixings. Totally hit the spot for a cold morning. I also ordered a California Club sandwich which turned out to be more filling than expected. Few drawbacks with this sandwich, bread was too soft for all the fillings, although I LOVE avocado the slices were too thick and kept sliding out, the chopped lettuce also kept falling out everywhere. Despite all that, everything was delicious! I’m excited to take advantage of their membership discounts in the future."
"Our server was fantastic! He was kind, attentive, and let us stay for as long as we wanted. He deserves a raise. I got the eggs Benedict while my friends got the chorizo omelet, pancakes, and biscuits. The eggs Benedict came out cold. The eggs were cooked nicely. The hollandaise was fine but nothing to write home about. Excellent sized portion of avocado!!! My biggest gripe was the English muffins. They weren't toasted. They also had a wet slice of tomato on top of their unbuttered selves. So, they sat soggy and sad at the bottom of the pile. They were chewy and not in a good way. I got red potatoes. They tasted like they were cooked in reused or old oil. Maybe they weren't but whatever oil they use gives it a funky flavor. I didn't like it. The pancakes taste like vanilla cake. Like... cake mix cake. They are very soft but have none of the diner crisp or buttery goodness of a good pancake. The syrup is, well, plain old maple flavored corn syrup. It's not my thing. The biscuits are super thick, super soft, and very dry? Not dry like there isn't enough liquid in the recipe but dry as in you'd better have a good dollop of jam or gravy to help you choke it down. They remind me of bisquick. The omelets were made separate from their filling. Which is a choice. The fillings I tried were kind of bland and salty. But I'm not a fan of omelets in general so don't let me cloud your judgement. Honestly, my favorite part was the stack of whipped cream on top of my hot cocoa! I think I'll stick to making my breakfasts at home. Oh! And word to the wise do NOT get the sausage patties. They are heinous and would be better suited as doggie treats. No offense to anyone that likes them but the links are much, much better."
