"I love Cafe Rio but never going back to this location again! I figured I’ll do quick taco Tuesday dinner. I thought wrong with the “quick” part, I should have just cooked at home. They were moving very slowly. It took 20minutes to get my order and, when I did get the order, there were so many missing toppings on the tacs. I got flour tortillas yet they were over cooked and crunchy, 90% of the tacos were just shredded lettuce so I had to dig deep to find a small pinch of meat. ( the picture was after I removed the lettuce to show the meat) I ordered 2 sides of rice and they had absolutely NO flavor and SO dry, one of the container looked like someone scooped a bite out of it. Hot salsa looked slimy too. I should have walked out when I saw the aftermath of left over sheet cake just left alone in the corner of the table, as if the staffs were eating off of it and didn’t clean up. My family was upset how I even paid for those, well I didn’t know until I got home. I’ll be driving extra 5 minute to the other Cafe Rio from now on."
"The food was terrible. The rice was the dried up crumbly crunchy bits at the bottom of the pan. So hard and crunchy we couldn’t chew it. The black beans weren’t cooked enough so they also were crunchy. The burrito comes with a salad but it was the amount that could fit on a fork and the lettuce was old and slimy. Same with the lettuce on the tacos. The amount of sauce and cheese on the top of the burrito was a quarter of what you get at other Cafe Rios. Only two redeeming things: the Baja shrimp tacos (minus the lettuce) were good and the speed of getting out the order. But if you like quality food this is not the place for you. Fresh food? Not the place for you."
"*follow up* I responded and did all the steps cafe Rio said. I was not contacted and have still not received a refund -11/18/23 I had to order 3 times due to system issues, when I did get my order we were missing 3 things on our order. Then I get my food covered in grease and could not eat my food. We will not be back The staff was kind but all over the place"
"We tried Cafe Rio for the first time tonight, and it was pretty dang good! I got the chile beef burrito with rice, beans, and salsa fresca. My husband got the shredded chicken burrito queso style with rice & beans (pictured) We both really loved our burritos! Mine was supposed to be enchilada style, but my husband forgot to order it that way, but I’m sure that would elevate the burrito even more. I’ve got to give a shout out to their green salsa (I THINK it was the mild salsa) because it was absolutely fantastic, probably my new favorite. Lastly, we tried the lime pie and while it wasn’t the best we’ve ever had (I’m a key lime pie enthusiast) it was pretty good and refreshing as a dessert after the burritos! We will definitely be back ☺️"
"I was very disappointed to see that you order through a kiosk and don’t watch the employees make the food in front of you. The kiosks make it much more difficult to customize your order which is the best part of cafe Rio. The inside of the restaurant was very clean but is tiny compared to other Cafe Rio locations. Also was bummed to see how much they skimped me on my salad size. I love Cafe Rio but likely will not return to this location. The one in Waddell is much better."
