"I wanted to get the fried plantains since I haven't had any in a long time. They were good but under cooked. They did fill me up. The bartender was friendly."
"Don't Skip the RUM CAKE!!! now.. back to the meal review: Montego-licious! EVERY bite was savory, making my head swoon!(you know-when your eyes close, your eyes roll back and you try not to sound like a love locked teenager). I suggested Kingston Kitchen when asked where to take dignitaries! Knowing they've "eaten their way around the world", I wanted to make a great choice.... and I was DELIGHTED! The menu was filled with all the traditional choices and flavor profiles I've grown to love since travelling the Carribean! Olivia treated us as family & our dietary restrictions were easily accommodated. Extra points for THAT! The food was entirely off the chart YUMMY, the portions AMPLE, and the flavors.... OOOOOOOO the flavors! It was like Montego Bay AND Kingston was somehow now on Speedway Blvd. in Tucson, AZ! The prices=well in line, the food= great, the atmosphere calm and relaxed with a squeeze of urban flare! Two of us even got go-boxes so we could relive the flavors later! The curry was flavorful without being too hot to eat, the coconut shrimp was fluffy and cooked to perfection, and the jerk chicken, well I may never get tired of jerk chicken! Rocky and Olivia as well as their servers were awesome! From the perfectly prepared meals to the Dark and Stormy cocktail... I left with a huge Jamaican smile in my belly!!"
"Sent my wife here yesterday I ordered a oxtail plate and beef there was more beef than oxtail they… are petty on the oxtail especially to a white person it seems I’ve been here before I stopped going for the same reason 27 $ for vegetable, cabbage and rice, and some dried up beef with no oxtails, and the oxtails only had three, and they were very thin. I would never order this place again."
"In Tucson for the weekend and just happened to find this restaurant on a google maps search. We were hooked when we saw that they had fried plantains. Stopped in and had a FANTASTIC meal. Ricky took care of us and walked us through the menu. The Ox tail and the goat were heavenly. We were delighted with the meal. Oh, yes the rice and beans are amazing and of ofourse we also got the plantains. Too much to add! The rum punch sneaks up on you!! Would highly recommend this place."
"I'm currently living in an area where there isn't any form of any kind of Caribbean food. I happened to be here in Tucson for work for a few weeks and knew that there had to be something delicious. After a quick search on Google and on Yelp I came across this place. The name on the building had a different name for the same address on Yelp and kind of threw me off but it was confirmed as a recent name change. After reading rave reviews under both the new and the old name. I had to try it. I saw that they offer combo plates with two different meat options. I usually get curry goat at any Jamaican place that I can and my wife usually gets oxtail. So naturally I opted for the oxtail curry goat combo with steamed veggies and fried plantains. My order was ready in a timely manner and the staff was very hospitable and attentive as soon as I walk through the door. The price when I paid seemed a little steep compared to what I saw online. Especially when I saw a not super big round plastic to-go type container. But when she handed me the bag I could tell that this container was filled to the brim as it felt like it weighed 2 to 3 lbs. I quickly scurry down back to the hotel and gave everything a try.... absolutely freaking amazing. Everything. The oxtail was super tender and flavorful, parts of it falling off the bone instantly. The curry goat had amazing spices and just melted in your mouth. The generous portion of rice and peas topped with a little bit extra sauce from each of the meats could have been a stand-alone dish on its own. It was so fantastic. The steamed cabbage and veggies were a nice fresh compliment and the fried plantains added that sweet touch to balance everything out. There is enough in that one to go container to easily feed three people. But you will not want to share so make sure get your own. This family owned restaurant off of Speedway Blvd needs to be highlighted and word needs to spread on how amazing it is! I will definitely be returning before I leave in the coming weeks."
