"Delicious!! We went thinking this was going to be Thai food. It’s not, but we were NOT disappointed. The owner has combined ingredients and flavors from various places and made them into his own cuisine. It was delicious! My husband got a rice bowl and I got the stir fry noodles in coconut sauce. You can order all of the dishes regular or spicy (we got spicy). We also had naan on the side. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back! The owner was fantastic. He was kind and helped us through our first ordering experience. Note: If you’re expecting a fancy sit-down restaurant, this is not it. But it’s clean and charming in its own way."
"Wow, everyone should check this place out. The owner Dr. Tank is incredibly kind and attentive. But most importantly, the food is ridiculously good. Flavorful gravy, fresh veggies, and the richest paneer I’ve ever had. Don’t sleep on this one."
"Lemongrass is not your typical restaurant. Far from it! We were actually looking for Thai food (which this isn't, it is its own genre) and stopped in after going right by it and missing it, it can be hard to spot. We were immediately given a warm greeting and seated by a friendly gentleman, who we later learned was Dr. Tank Ojha, geologist, researcher, owner, and chef. Tank prepared us a truly delicious meal, came by and checked on us, discussed his food preparation techniques, and made us feel like welcome guests. As another reviewer commented, it was more like eating dinner at someone's home. The casual atmosphere (paper plates, plastic dinnerware) added to the charm, like dining at a Nepalese mountain camp (where Tank learned to cook.) We look forward to seeing Tank and sampling his cooking again next time we're in the Tucson area! Pictures: Combo 18, Lentil patties, with spinach sauce. Also general inside view showing seating."
"There are very few places as unique and welcoming and delicious as this true gem in downtown Tucson on fourth Avenue! My wife and I are both foodies, and my wife is an excellent chef, and as soon as we started tasting, the food tasted just like a perfectly cooked home cooked meal by someone who really appreciates fine cuisine. This reminds me of old world restaurants I have been to which are still very intimate. The chef is a geologist who has brought his high level of intelligence to bring truly unique chemistries of food to your palate. This is one of those restaurants that was so good you say to yourself this could be come a larger or replicated restaurant in other cities!!! Truly great food, with a really personable chef, who had a great personal story to share. I recommend this place to anyone who wants foodie level food."
"Visited and had dinner here the week it was crazy hot in Tucson. I think it was 114F during the day we visited but as it was later in the day, likely more around 100-105F? They only had a swamp cooler going so it was a little bit better in the restaurant and the owner had apologized it was not cooler. The staff there is nice and friendly. The food was good but for me a little on the oily side. Wife got the stir fried rice dish with chicken and I got the noodle dish with chicken w/fresh tomato based sauce. If it were cooler I think the meal would have been much more enjoyable."
