"This restaurant is incredible. The food is delicious, and the interior is beautiful. Our server, Peter, was wonderfully attentive, helpful, and lovely. It was such a treat to eat here. And, our leftovers were packaged so well by them, really, this is the best overall service I've experienced in a long time. Enjoy friends."
"If you're going on a Saturday night, be sure to make a reservation or be prepared to wait at least an hour. The Calamari Crema is an appetizer that can feed at least 4 and is out-of-this-world delicious. The Sole was a great piece of fish and a nice dinner. The Chicken Piccata was a bit smaller than expected, but full of flavor. It's a great place for a romantic date or a group gathering."
"Quite expensive for what it is… De Cecco pasta, not even fresh homemade. (Across the street, Commoner also serves pasta which is clearly homemade, al dente deliciousness… at lower prices.) Gavi’s calamari was good with a light crisp batter, albeit the squid a bit chewier than I prefer. Surprising that you can’t find calamari grilled in olive oil in this town; it’s always breaded and deep fried. The HH cheese pizza reminded me of the pizzas they serve for the kids at Chinese buffets… something about the soft doughiness. It wasn’t bad… just seemed well beneath what I would have imagined at an Italian restaurant with Gavi’s reputation and elevated prices. Risky’s in the plaza next door offers pizza with the crust and consistency I would have expected from Gavi’s — and they’re not even known as a pizzeria. Back to Gavi’s, the service and reception are fine; the ambiance inviting; nice decor, beautiful patio with space heaters in the cold months. Interesting the vast majority of reviews here are happy 5 stars… sigh… must be me."
"This was my first time eating here and food was delicious. For appetizers we ordered Mozzarella Marinera (the best we’ve had). Our entrees were, Chicken Alfredo, chicken Alfredo tetrazzini, meatball marinera and chicken parmigiana. The Alfredo dishes were the best we have tasted. Pasta was cooked perfectly and chicken was flavorful. Other 2 dishes were just as flavorful. Only complaint was we got no refills on our drinks. Would definitely go back"
