"Chilaquiles Divorciados! Lord have mercy! Some of the best, down to earth, incredible, authentic Mexican comfort food (made with love and cooked from the soul) I have ever experienced. The beans hit different and I can 100% proclaim that Buendia has the best beans on this planet. Gastronomically amazing all around. The Buendia staff are super kind and emanate nothing but positive energy. The ambience is lovely also. Anna did the looking after and she was absolutely wonderful. Great human being. Brought some Carne con Chile burritos to my son and he enjoyed them thoroughly. After one bite, he was already thinking about getting more. Buendia is the truth. Top notch. God level Mexican food. Chilaquiles Divorciados with eggs gives best of both red and green. And not to spoil any surprises, but all served with a dash of alegria / happiness."

"Awesome little Mexican breakfast and lunch place. Seating is limited, so be prepared for a possible wait. Food is authentic and delish. Wife had the chilaquiles divorciado and I had the huevos rancheros divorciado. The divorciado simply meaning we had both red and green sauce. The flavor was amazing for both. As a treat, get yourself the Cafe de Olla, served in the earthenware cups! It's incredible. Will definitely be back!"

"Location: On First Ave near Grant (Alturas to be exact) Parking: Limited This is a small cafe that serves Mexican breakfast and lunch. The food was not as tasty as anticipated. The food lacked flavor, was overcooked, limited, and the portions were kid-sized (as pictured). Service was decent but our waitress had difficulties understanding questions asked about the food (I.e. preparation, spice level, etc.). Dia De Los Muertos decor was still up so the decor was magnificent! Two individual bathrooms available that were nicely decorated just adjacent to the dining area. Being that it’s a cafe it’s only open limited hours and be prepared to wait regardless of the day or time. If you’re looking for a cute experience this might be your place but if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food with adult-sized portions try some other options. Affordability: $$"
