Reviews
"This is a long review but stick around... You'll thank me later. There's a saying that goes something like: "That place really isn't good so what you're paying for is the experience" and I have to say that if ever there were a place that matches this description, it's Bazil's. I can't remember the last time I was so genuinely disappointed by a simple Italian meal. Perhaps you think I'm being harsh, but is it really being harsh if I want an Italian restaurant to serve a decent plate of spaghetti and meatballs... Or anything, for that matter? After you place your order, your meal arrives as separate courses: Bread, salad, soup, and then entree, with each being just as lackluster as the last. The salad was compromised of wilted iceberg lettuce, stringy red onion, poorly sliced deli meat and cheese, and doused with a knockoff Olive Garden vinaigrette. Shortly after, the cup of soup arrived, which was thin and under seasoned. Now, for the spaghetti. This lukewarm plate of pasta placed in front of me was nicely presented but was covered in what I can only assume was last week's sauce. This red tomato concoction had a slightly charred aftertaste and was adorning meatballs which were most definitely pulled out of the back of some freezer in the kitchen and then slapped into a piping hot pan in an attempt to revive them. Believe it or not, I seriously wanted to enjoy my experience here. The building and interior decor are beautiful, the ambiance is warm and quiet, and the service is great. Our lovely server, Sarah also did everything in her power to try and make things right but I'm not sure how she would've been capable of doing an entire menu overhaul in just one night. Save your money and go to Olive Garden... At least there, everyone is family."
"We were disappointed to find out the menu posted online (for dine.in) does not match the menu in the restaurant. We specifically went for one of the specialty items and came to find out it was discontinued months ago. The website should be updated! Then once the bill came each entree and drinks were several dollars more than the printed price on the menu. This added up to approx an added $20 to the bill. Prices may increase but the prices reflected in the menu should be what appears on the bill...and not be surprised! Very disappointing. Service was okay but had to keep calling people over for basic items like salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, etc. The restaurant was not too busy yet it took a long time for a server to come by and she didn't check back often. The bus boys seemed more attentive. Overall the food was good. The antipasto salad was very nice. Soup was meh. Entrees were good. Spumoni was wonderful! Overall felt deceived with menus and mainly pricing. No note indicating pricing subject to change or any comments from the server beforehand. Just bad business. The atmosphere was quaint."
"This was one of the best Italian restaurants I've been too. The Veal Marsala and Rolled Eggplant were the best I've ever had. The Alfredo was pretty plain, no garlic or parmesan flavor. The garlic bread and marinara was amazing. If you get the tiramisu ask for no chocolate drizzle."
"A restaurant with take out or the option of either sitting at the bar or fine dining area. We chose to sit at the fine dining area and had appetizer of cheesy garlic bread with sauce that was incredibly delicious. Entree was served with salad and soup to start. Had the fettuccine Alfredo and shrimp and scallops. From salad to entree all felt like it needed a little more flavor so we asked for some salt and pepper and that was all it needed. Service was quick, immediately seated around dinner time. Had a server in training that was very nice to us and very polite when asking if we were finished before bringing out the next plate or taking plates away. Overall good experience. Might try the pizza next time."
"My boyfriend and I loved the food. The pizza sauce was amazing!!! Found my new favorite pizza (the vegetable pizza); it was delicious. The atmosphere is both cozy and classy. A great place for date night or to dine alone. The staff was friendly, the bartender Courtney was funny and provided excellent service, and the owner Bazil even came and introduced himself. Overall great experience and delicious food! 10/10!"
