Pronghorn Pizza

"While they do not serve pronghorn here, I found this restaurant to be nonetheless excellent. The atmosphere at this establishment is modest, yet somehow elite. It is unassuming, but in a very real sense it assumes excellency in a way that transcends Arizona culinary expectations. The pizza I ordered here was the Vera Earl pizza and verily it was very valuable. I will point out a few things about the content and form of this dish. Most importantly the beef was superb. However, the presence of dill on the pizza seemed to me superfluous and detracted somewhat from the aura of simplicity which seems to permeate this restaurant. There was also lime on my pizza which, while not entirely unwelcome, left me feeling a little confused and disoriented. Pickled onions, adorned this elegant pie, and this avant-garde decision by the chef truly impressed me. It complimented the beef and cheese very well. Pizza dough is the rock upon which the foundation of all pizza is built, and the architects of this creation are thoroughly well trained in their craft. I was amazed by the light consistency and heavenly taste of this floury base of the dish. Finally, the service was excellent and friendly, with the exception of a large house cat named Speeder who completely ignored my party and ate his own lunch while we were waiting for ours. Overall, I would highly recommend this pizza place to any parties sojourning in southern Arizona."

"At first it was very hard to find since there is no signage out front. Overall thought it was a very warming atmosphere! The service was great and the pizza tasted very fresh and homemade. Great place to stop. Hopefully Sonoita will get more places like this in the future."

The pies are baked with tender crusts you actually want to eat | dog friendly patio | outdoor heaters for unexpected winds | friendly servers who introduce you to their dog Chloe | Sonoran spritz light cocktail with a jalapeño kick | EV charging station so you are all souped up in body and vehicle to head back to Tucson. But don't forget to check out Patagonia afterwards. I mentioned to Andy a shopowner that the place reminded me of the TV show Northern Exposure in its coziness and he said, "it's true!" We have Pulitzer Prize winning authors and Korean War veterans and I offered to help someone mail a package and I'm not even the post office!" There's all kinds of caretakers who make the place hum. Maybe you'll meet them at Pronghorn."
