Lake Owyhee State Park

"Nice and secluded. Beautiful views of the geology and the stars. Park Rangers are awesome. Caught a few large trout in the river downstream. Will return."

"I’ll start the with good. The lake itself is absolutely beautiful. Went on a 3 day fly fishing trip and it’s just miles upon miles of great fishing spots. Water is freezing, but it felt refreshing with how hot it was. We camped at the state park campground and this is where the bad comes in. We did have hook ups so that part I’ll say was good, but the spot had goat heads EVERYWHERE and I am not exaggerating when I say the flies were EVERYWHERE. If we weren’t fishing all day then I would have left that spot right away. Also, Oregon still had their burn ban in place so we couldn’t have a fire. Didn’t see anything on the website about a burn ban so I was pretty disappointed. All in all, great place for fishing but not a great place for camping."

"Amazing views. Wish we'd had a boat. Neighbors gave us a tour on the lake. Saw wild horses and numerous interesting geological formations. PS The road in is very narrow along the cliff. Not for the faint of heart."

"We took an autumn drive on Owyhee Lake Road through the State Park. Awesome drive with terrific scenery. We walked a few short hikes to enjoy the fall colors and the views around the lake. Looking forward to coming back in the spring."
