"Campground was closed, but past the campground was open to fish. There is a parking area and a vault toilet just ahead on the dirt road. I think camping in the walk in camp spots is limited to three days. Nice area to be at the confluence of the Boise River and the Snake River. Several campsites with trash cans, picnic tables and fire rings. Not much shade, but a beautiful spot."
"Drove and checked out the camp area The day before We planned our stay, camp host off duty and website says First come first come first serve, no reservations. We show up bright and early the next day Hoping to get One of the two shaded spots. Multiple spots show reserved with not a soul in site. Once again camp host shows off duty..mind you its labor day weekend. We go to pay for the lesser of non shaded dirt sites, and the fee box has one envelope left but its completely destroyed and has to be torn to insert our money. Night one, host has young children moving the sprinklers around..now the campers are directly being sprayed...We felt bad for the guy 2 sites over that was packing up his wet tent while being sprayed. We never saw an adult leave the trailer in the whole time we were there..the kids were working the place for them :( It clearly states on the site no generators after 10 p.m. but we were kept up all night by multiple loud generators all night long. Day 2 6 a.m. we are now trying to catch an hour of sleep through squeeling kids and barking dogs ! We decided we were done! Instead of enjoying our weekend camping we drove home and finally got sleep. This is the laziest ran campground i have ever seen. I am angry at the whole experience , and upon leaving the camp host still shows off duty..no wonder this place is in such low demand by the locals. Oh and the goatheads are awful"
"Quiet, not busy campground, not too far off the highway if just passing through. Bugs were awful down by the river, but not as bad up top. Signage and website were confusing because signs said to see camp host, but they weren’t there and the website said the same thing, but there was a fee box. Would’ve been easier to just direct people to the fee box on the sign and website. Minimal amenities. Bathroom was relatively clean considering the type of bathroom. Grills and fire pits at the site were fine. Visitors didn’t completely trash the site, but definitely little remnants of trash were left behind which kind of sucked."
"Being at the junction of the Boise river flowing into the Snake River, this can be a fantastic place to fish, but not so much to camp on the river. Well-kept and established camping is available off of the river for those who hunt during the fall and winter months. On the river there are campsites, but they are not well maintained and the fire pits have all but been destroyed. Some have benches and most have tables. However, those who fish will enjoy both night and day fishing along the river for bass, trout, crappie, and sturgeon. Depending on the time of year much of the area can be flooded or filled with Mosquitos. The on-river areas are non-motorized separated by a gate. If you are fishing with a lot of gear, be prepared to lug it, from the gate to the end is about a 1/4 mile."
