"Came to try out our new snowshoes and I really loved how beautiful this trail was. It's flat and easy, but gave us a good leg workout. There is not much parking at the trail head. It was beautiful and magical with all the new snow."
"The drive here is amazing! We have taken the family to walk around enjoyed the scenery a few times now. We also visited during winter and there was tons of people ice fishing and riding their snow mobiles all over the lake. Gorgeous during both seasons."
"The camp sites were clean and were big enough for our ford dulley and trailer. There are trails to the lake and plenty of sandy beaches. The camp host and park rangers were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this spot for your next camping adventure."
"Wonderful place to stay for a weekend. Great number of easy and moderate hikes around the area. The nearby town was bustling, but still had a homey vibe."
"We stayed at the Sugarloaf Unit at Lake Cascade in west central Idaho. We stayed here for the Eclipse in August of 2017. It's approx. 2 miles off the main road and we found it very peaceful and quiet. You will be boon docking at this location. We had our trailer so it was wonderful! The campground has vault toilets and they are kept up everyday by the parks department. There are no showers, so be aware of that. Water spigots are within the campsite area if you want to fill your trailer there. There were two different trash bins at this place which was a bonus. The area is surrounded by pine trees, sage brush and the lake. There are several hiking trails throughout the area, mainly through the sage brush. The campsites are spread out so you will have some privacy. You are within walking distance of the lake. We did not go in the water but we did see some water skiers. We did see some reviews where people said that they got swimmers itch in the lake. Not sure about that, but you can do research if needed. This is a must! Bring mosquito spray. They love to come out for a couple of hours around sunset and there were a lot of them! Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay here. We loved the views and the peacefulness and found other campers very respectful and friendly."
