"My tax professional was efficient in filling out the basics like W-2 forms, however the staff seemed poorly informed of EV tax credits. I asked my tax professional about any credits I could claim for installing a home EV charger, and despite asking a manager to verify, she told me there were none. A cursory Google search allowed me to find a credit I qualified for, which she assisted me in filling out. This did not fill me with confidence that H&R Block was doing their best to maximize my tax return. The staff also had trouble answering my questions related to non-charger EV credits. I opted for a 1-on-1 appointment to fill out my taxes this year because of the complexities around EV credits. However, I don't feel like I got any additional value compared to filing my taxes online, and it was certainly not paying about 4x as much."
