"I would give 2 stars to front desk but 5 to my neuro (Marian Marsh) and her assistants. It's incredibly hard to schedule. Several times the "system" has "lost" my appointments. Unfortunately, as a teacher, my time to schedule appts is very limited unless I take a half day. (I only get 2 days, so taking half days for appts equates to using ALL of my personal days for these appts), since I need to schedule every 12 weeks. To combat this, I schedule ahead (over 3 months ahead), to ensure I can get appts over my days off. Four times now, my scheduled appts have been "lost" and I need to reschedule, which results in my having to take personal days. I pay out of pocket for treatments, so losing money trying to schedule and taking (unpaid personal days) compounds my issues. I do everything I can to attempt to avoid this, but as stated above, my scheduled appts are lost and I need to reschedule at times not conducive for my health or convenient. The front desk staff is rude and inattentive. It's an inconvenience to them when they have to stop their personal conversations to check you in. The past two check ins, I listened to their personal conversations for five mins before interrupting and requesting to be checked in. I was then reprimanded in the back for my late check in. Quite frustrating considering it wasn't me."
"Dr B Stewart is a very patient professional and somewhat of a natural educator imo. I had to purge a long history of symptoms related to my movement disorder. He’s no Bambi, nor is he too old and pretentious to listen to my symptom history and concerns. I’ve been getting guess work from psych Drs for years bc I thought naturally they would be experts in movement disorders related to the meds they, themselves, prescribed. I was hesitant to see a neuro specialist. I was wrong. Dr Stewart demonstrated that he has a great understanding of the pathophysiology of my complicated case and he explained in terms I could understand. It was an educational experience. Dr S didn’t expect me to retain the info he had just shared with me verbally. He wrote and printed brief instructions in addition to writing thorough case notes posted to the patient portal. Thanks to the written briefs, I feel more confident in relaying the info and suggested treatment plan to my medication manager who made the referral. 10/10 would recommend. *regarding the negative reviews hating on the scheduling/check in staff of this dept: I had much contact with them over incoming and outgoing calls and I didn’t find them disagreeable at all. But patience and understanding went a long way in my experience. They do exude a level urgency but remain totally professional. Once I met them, I saw the level of multitasking happening and immediately felt they deserved some grace."
"Alot of patients needing to see a Neurologists have something off in our minds, we are not perfect, and we struggle daily. Treat us like u understand! Took 40 days to get an appointment approved/set. Noone called to inform me or my ENT they needed more paperwork... I hand delivered my MRI results to the front desk (whom was very short w/me.) to prove the urgency/status of my results to get appointment set. 21/2 months later I was 4 minutes late for my appointment and forced to reschedule it for 2 months later... They didn't get back to me for 40day n I waited patiently, but they can't wait on me for 4 min. I was sitting in waiting room when front desk called me back up to say, "they just messaged me n said if u show up, to reschedule" Over 4min! I definitely suggest be on time! But not too early cuz you're not allowed to sit in the waiting room if you're too early...."
"Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced in the health care industry. I can’t comprehend how a neuroscience institute can cancel so many appointments with such short notice and not being able to get them rescheduled for months out. I don’t know if it is due to the incompetence of the office staff and schedulers or the physicians and technicians just taking random days off all the time. We will never know because the staff cancel all the appointments. If it’s the scheduler issue then it really makes the physicians look bad. If it’s the physicians and techs then it really makes the schedulers look bad. Either way, I don’t recommend to anyone. Especially if you have nerve damage that needs fixed with any type of urgency. I had four appointments set up and rescheduled due to the physician or tech not being available on those days. The last time that Debbie, the scheduler, called to cancel I ask her why I need to keep setting up appointments if they have to cancel within a day or two of the appointment? I was told that two of those were “no shows”. Really?!! I have zero feeling in the tips of my fingers and you’re telling me that I “no showed” for an appointment that is required to get it fixed!! I’ll stop right there. Zero stars."
"Recently got an autoimmune disease diagnosis and have found the hard way that this office is unable to be on the offense. The ER doctor is actually your neurologist when the disease acts up. In other words you will always be behind on your treatment. You'll be treating the symptoms well after way after the fact if the disease suddenly acts up. The office is unable to schedule you on short notice, so you'll be waiting until your next appointment which can be weeks or months away. Have been very disappointed in the whole thing. Wanted to believe that St.Alphonsus Mulvaney would be able handle the number of patients they have. Guess not."
