"Great school, teachers are great & the a majority of students are friendly."
"A pretty great school, but there are some complaints I have. Namely Mrs. Nicholas. She doesn't accept late work and it's because of her class I lost my straight A streak. Also after school I came to her to discuss a missing assignment and my home base teacher was there too and was talking to her before I walked in. When I told her that I wanted my grade fixed, she brought up how I sometimes fooled around on a computer during class, and in front of my home base teacher too. The next day in home base, when I was doing a grade check, my teacher came up to me and gave me a huge speech in front of the whole class about how computers are a responsibility and not a privilege and that means I lost my home base teacher's trust and got humiliated in front of everyone. Way to go Mrs Nicholas. It's a great school other than that, but if your kid gets Nicholas, you better transfer them to Ward or some other English teacher."
"I have a problem with the dress code and how the teachers control what kids wear. We're not aloud to wear shorts unless they reach our fingertips (which is unfair because not everyone has the same arm length...) and cannot expose our shoulders? I do understand that this is enforced across the district, but I just think this is ridiculous, especially since the dress codes are only regarded to girls. Teachers/adults should not be teaching young girls that their bodies are inherently sexual or that we are looked at as sexual objects. Another point, boys are apparently "distracted" by the exposure of our bodies when they do work in school, but if their distracted so much by us wearing shorts or a tank top when just doing class work, how are they going to understand the real world? They need to be taught that when women wear should not distract them from whatever they're doing, we have the right to wear what we want, especially when its 90 degrees outside."
"I find the reviews on Mrs. Nicholas interesting. My daughter transferred to Honors English so she could get out of her class, as this was the only means offered to her through her home base teacher due to her "personality conflict" with this teacher. Reading comprehension is our daughter's most difficult skill in school and she excels in all other areas. She made the honor roll every quarter of her time at Sac except now, this being her last quarter, due to her C grade in honors English, she came to me in tears that she will not make the honor roll this time. She has tried her hardest but she cannot manage an A in honors English. Now that I read the other reviews on Mrs. Nicholas I am suspicious how much of the "personality conflict" was truly on the part of the teacher. What a shame that our daughter's honor roll streak, one of her only sources of self confidence at this time in her life, is ruined due to her having to transfer out of Ms. Nicholas class due to the "personality conflict". This is quite frustrating!!!"
"Some of the most intelligent, and helpful teachers you'll find. Don't waste you time looking at any others in the area."
