"There used to be a beautiful house on the corner by the church. That house was owned by an amazing woman. She was an orphan, a mother who lost 2 of her children, and a widow. She did amazing things like put herself through college with children, became the post master of Oakley, donated to the museum, and even helped start the good buy resell shop. She sold that beautiful house to the church leadership on the promise that it would be moved if possible but it would not be torn down. They gave her their word that they would use the house if it could not be moved. You see she loved that house which was a very historic house for the town of Oakly. You see it was a farm house that the town grew around. Making it one of the oldest houses in the area. Within 2 years of her death, the house was torn down. That empty lot stands as a broken promise and is so painful to see."
"Beautiful wedding"
"There is a man who is a member at this Parish who has MS. He rides a scooter chair, and sits way over to the side of the nave. He greets everyone who comes in the west side door. During the Eucharist, when everyone is coming back from receiving our Lord, he greets everyone who walks past him with a warm handshake, and such a wide, beautiful smile that I couldn't help but see Jesus' Love shining through that smile. That Agape-Love brought tears of joy to my eyes! Father Pfannendiel's (sp?) homily was excellent, too, but even if he'd delivered a mediocre message, I would definitely be happy to attend here again, because of the joy in Jesus Christ's Love that this gentleman in the scooter chair expressed. Thank you!"
