Reviews of Church History Museum
"I am not a Mormon and it was very interesting to learn more about the origin of this religion. The museum is very beautiful as they created spaces (like a wood, a cabin, a temple). Volunteers (or employees) walk around and give more information. There was a very beautiful art exhibition on the second floor. No need to pay for the parking -- the streets behind the conference center are 2-hour free, just walk 5 min and that's it."
"You might shed some tears. The spirit is strong here. So much to see and people to interact with. Be easy with the missionaries. It's not always easy laboring for the Lord and keeping a smile all the time."
"The museum is currently showcasing an exhibition of Minerva Teichert's art that is a must-see for any of her fans. The exhibit is well worth the hassle of driving into Salt Lake City and finding parking. The exhibit itself is free. Street parking is $2.50/hour."
"This museum is well put together. Loved learning about the history of the LDS faith. My favorite was the 180 degree screen of the Sacred Grove. It's as if i was sitting in the grove myself. Every year they host an artist and its Minerva Teighert currently. I love her work and her story. Being a woman artist in the 1800's whilst being a mother and wife is quite remarkable, as is her gift. Each painting is finished when the story is finished. And i love that she uses red in all of her paintings. Oh! They have a lovely gift shop that sponsors local Christian artists and more!!!"
"I've been here before, but this time, I found out there is a Children's area. It was very cool. I think it is a nice quiet place to look at paitings, LDS church history, take the kids and shop. The water is very overpriced but the coin souvenirs are very cheap."
