"Do not see Kate/Cheryl Burris. I had an appointment yesterday and expressed having feelings of hopeless to my provider. Who should make changes to my meds if necessary based on how I am doing. Instead I was told by my provider that she’s been there before and picked herself back up almost as if I was being told to get over it. I then expressed my issues and why I was feeling the way I was. From there I set some goals and boundaries for myself out loud and got told “stop right there, that’s unrealistic.” Only inducing further hopelessness. At that point I was ready to leave and I made that clear when I began to get up and attempt to leave the room. I say attempt because my provider stands in the way of the door blocking me from leaving and proceeds to apologize excessively. I made it clear I had no interest in furthering the conversation from there and that I wanted to leave. Still I was being blocked from leaving the room after repeatedly saying that I needed to leave so I had to threaten to cause a scene. I felt unsafe. Even after me saying I would cause a scene I was still being blocked from leaving. She wouldn’t let me leave until I gave her permission to raise my dosage for my meds. I was quite literally trapped and held in that room against my will. I requested enough meds after this so I could find a new provider and she called me this morning saying that she understood if I wanted to find new care because she also has boundaries as if I had crossed any. Absolutely sickening. To further induce feelings of hopelessness, invalidate your patients feelings, to trap them again their will and then blame the patient is wrong. I’m filing a report with any authority possible because if any other patient is treated the way I was today I fear it may have an effect on a larger scale. I felt unsafe and I was trapped against my will. I want something done about it and I pray no one sees this provider if they see this."
"Matt is a great listener and a wonderful provider! The office is cozy, and the staff is very friendly."
"This place is fantastic! The staff is super friendly. They can usually get me in very quickly if I need, and they are great at answering questions and getting back to me when I contact them either online or by phone. I have recommended them to immediate family and will again to anyone who needs help with adhd!"
"As a recovering addict I am always looking to make sure that my program is working “‘my way”. MAP has been the best solution for ongoing therapy for my addiction medication therapy, ADHD medication and treatment and because my doctor is so supportive and aware of my needs I am now able to be treated for depression and my PTSD which I have always felt was not worth it, but they have found a solution for me that works. Every step of the process is always very helpful and supportive. They understand that a lot of their clients are in some kind of need be it mentally or physically or emotionally and are always looking to make sure each of my visits are flawless. Thanks for helping this addict help another."
"I think the staff is great and the work they do is beneficial. I will say, however, my last visit in they had a Christmas tree decorated with pride stuff all over. I personally think that businesses need to keep away from politics and things of that nature. It's ok to tear down statues and other historical artifacts, yet now we are forced to have pride stuff forced down ours as well as our children's throats. Just seems unprofessional to me. A psychiatry place should be neutral ground, and that did not seem to be the case upon walking in."
