"The company that owns this property, McCatheren Management, changed the convienence fee to pay online from a flat rate of around $4 to a percentage of the payment you're making, and never told anyone. That changed the convienence fee for me to like $40... that just feels like stealing from your tenants... I've since switched to paying with check instead of online but it's still wrong. 4th Avenue can be VERY loud for a couple reasons. 1. Speeding. A lot of people use 4th to avoid Sullivan, and there is rarely a cop on it so yeah. People trying to go 60+ mph on 4th 2. Theres a lot of people with cars that are just loud driving on 4th. For example, theres someone with a motorcycle that lives near these apartments that you can hear from a quarter mile away. It's pretty expensive for what it is. The layouts are small, the walls are thin, and the vents that you dryer are hooked up to really needed cleaned (fire hazard). I orginally moved here because they allow dogs, and ended up staying because finding a new place in spokane is super difficult right now. Definitely wont be staying for another lease. Would have felt better about staying here if McCatheren Mgmt wasnt so shady about that online fee."
"Nice place to live and overall safe. Never had an issue except cigarette smells come in through the walls. Also the walls are very thin- So thin I know when the guy and his girl adjacent to me climaxes at 4am. That gets very frustrating."
"I lived there for almost 2 years. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The apartments are nice and the area was relatively quiet. There was also ample parking spaces. The maintenance guy was prompt and always answered his phone. There was even one time he showed up at 4:30 in the morning to fix our door handle so we could get to work. When we moved out we made sure the apartment was clean to our best abilities and I can honestly say this is the only place that has ever given us a refund! That was great to get a check in the mail. Thank you Eastgate!"
"I've been living here since August 2018. I moved in with Samantha as the property manager, she was AMAZING. The two new managers have been... Meh. I'm highly allergic to cigarette smoke and moved in here because it was stated as a "non smoking community" — it is even written in my lease as "smoking is not permitted in unit or on premises" — yet my downstairs neighbors (who also moved in with Samantha a month after me, so I know they signed the same lease as I did) smoke multiple times a day on their deck and in their unit (I could smell it when I walked by their door as they were leaving). I have contacted the new manager and informed him that I had been admitted to the hospital for lung infection due to the smoke. He then told me they are allowed to smoke outside of the apartment but would ask them to step away from the building... They still continue to smoke on their deck. I can't open my windows or slider without my apartment filling with their smoke so it stays a very uncomfortable 82° in here."
"I have lived here since late January with my boyfriend, and 90% of the time it is a pleasure to live here. Samantha, the manager, is an absolute saint. She is the kindest woman, and jumps on any opportunities to help her tenants. The community here has been very great, with the exception of a few very noisy neighbors who like to smoke marijuana on their balcony. After a few months living here, the sprinklers started to damage my car since they were spraying directly on my car. I notified samantha, and it was fixed the very next day. If you're looking for a great apartment complex for first time renters, or any renters, please consider Eastgate. I feel very safe here, and it's very comfortable. Appliances are up to date, inside is modern and beautiful - you will not regret it. Pros: Amazing manager Great groundskeeping Fairly quiet community Beautiful interior Updated appliances WSG paid for - we only pay our electricity bill. Great parking (we pay extra for two spots) Safe area, very comfortable here. Close to things like Subway, Forza, and a gas station. Cons: The breed restriction rule does not seem to apply to all. I wanted a pit bull but because it was on the list of not allowed, we didnt get one. However, german shepherds are also on the list, and I have seen several of them throughout the complex. Noisy neighbors. 90% of the neighbors here are quiet, I just so happen to live with two very noisy ones in my building. The road it is located on is prone to speeding and drag racing - especially at night. Neighbors can smoke on their balconies. The cigarette smell is unpleasant, as well as the marijuana smell."
