Reviews
"Pharmacy lady was just rude without saying a single word. I waited in line to ask for an oral syringe for my 18 month old daughter for her Tylenol. When I was next in line I walked up and asked very nicely if they carried oral syringes for infants. The pharmacy girl looked completely annoyed at my question and then without saying a single word, she opened the drawer in front of her, grabbed a syringe, and slid it across the counter. I thanked her and she still remained silent. The other reviews aren’t wrong. She could have been having a bad day, as this happens, however this seems to be a persistent reason for the lower-scored reviews."
"I know many pharmacies are understaffed and overworked. I have friends that are pharm techs and I have a better understanding about it because of that. But this should not affect how patients are treated by staff. Especially when I give them the respect and patience that is deserved. I had an awful experience with staff here. Granted it was only one experience out of many normal ones it still did not help with my mental health issues I already experience and am being treated for. I'm just going to be honest I have severe ptsd, anxiety, and panic disorder due to trauma I have experienced. I see a psychologist weekly and take anxiety medication. One that I know some people take for a "good time" while I take it simply to mentally and emotionally survive some days. This is very frustrating because it makes it hard for people with real issues to be treated fairly and appropriately. Either way a professional that works in this field should not be using bias or judgment when dealing with patients as that is the doctors position and responsibility to make an informed decision on the necessity of types of treatment for different medical conditions. My doctor and I had been speaking about changing the dosage of my rx for a couple of months to deal with my uncontrollable symptoms. I had a really, really bad month and needed to have my prescription filled a few days earlier. Going through this process I was met with horrible judgment and treated very disrespectfully, I felt. My doctor sent my rx in (the only rx that I do take) and I could tell when I came in person during a shopping trip to ask if they had recieved the request that I was being treated differently. They really need to install some privacy walls in this pharmacy because the HIPPA violations are out of control. I asked if they received the request from my doctor and explained that it was early and why, even though it really wasn't necessary to do so. The tech proceeded to VERY LOUDLY state "Its too early to refill that prescription we aren't allowed to do that!" and I'm not exaggerating when I say there was a definite tone or negative attitude in her voice. It was slightly rude and disrespectful, and multiple people in line heard every word she had to say. I immediately went into panic mode and had a horrible attack and had to sit in my car simply trying to do breathing exercises and couldn't get my shopping finished. It was awful... my symptoms are terrible and I know they're mine to bare and that not everyone will understand my condition. I had nightmares for a week during this event, it triggered my ptsd caused by medical trauma pretty bad. Then when they finally acknowleged the request and approval the pharmacist in person said to me (again loud enough for strangers in line to hear) "well, we don't know exactly what prescription they approved your early refill for..." I only get one prescription on a regular basis, so what other one could it possibly be? After speaking with my doctors office and my psychologist (and thinking I was crazy to assume I was being judged by the pharmacy staff), the staff at my doctors office said that they felt like the situation was being treated with a personal judgement and bias by multiple staff members as well. They know my mental health history and had a few things to say to them in my defense about it when they called to ask why my rx had not been filled yet per the doctors order. Maybe the pharmacy staff were having bad days...? Maybe they have a personal bias towards certain medications given the industry they are in and what they have seen over time with the misuse of prescriptions. The problem with that is, it is not their job to judge each patient and the necessity of certain medications a patient may be prescribed. That's what doctors are for. I understand some people slip through the cracks and it may be frustrating but it's just not their job to judge each situation because some of us truly are suffering and its just not fair. After reading reviews I know I'm not alone in this experience, my Ridleys can do better!"
"Love having a pharmacy available in our local town. Things run smoothly when Abby is there (who is the pharmacist that has worked there for well over 10 years). She always remembers every family member by name and I trust her opinion and her knowledge. When she isn't working, it can sometimes get chaotic. There are a few medications I have to pay out of pocket for and unfortunately they are cheaper at bigger pharmacies even if using good Rx. It's a pain to have to drive to another town and wait in big lines but unfortunately I am on a tight budget, otherwise I would get them thru Ridleys."
"On February 8, 2024 I went to pick up a new prescription. As I waited in line to be acknowledged, I couldn't help but hear and see the pharmacist on duty, Sam, engaged in a yelling match with a female co-worker whose name I don't know. They were arguing about a prescription that Sam had filled which had already been picked up by the customer, that he had filled incorrectly. The customer's script was for Testosterone and Sam had filled and released double the amount the should have been. After much arguing, Sam simply walked away from the co-worker and the computer at which they were yelling. Another co-worker chimed in saying, "don't worry, it will be ok". The co-worker with which Sam was arguing, then told him "don't worry, I'll just rewrite it in the computer". Not sure exactly what that means, but it made me wonder how ethical or legal that might be. I was finally greeted and presented with my scripts. I said I had a question for Sam about one of them. After getting a somewhat confusing answer to my question about the safety of taking the this new med in conjunction with a second current med that I take at night time, I said that I might wait until the next day to begin the new med, at which point Sam simply walked away from me. Apparently, we were done. This incident is the second bad experience I've had with this pharmacy, although the first incident involved a pharmacist named Abbey, for which I have previously posted a review. Dear Lord, I just read the unending 1-star reviews for this pharmacy, and my review is just one more of the same - WAKE UP Ridley's Pharmacy and whomever is in charge of it - GET SOME NEW STAFF!! Why do you keep pharmacists that are inept and consistently rude to customers?? I'm taking my business elsewhere."
"The female pharmacist is extremely rude and lacks any person skills. Yelling out questions to me when trying to get a prescription from behind her little counter is a HIPPA violation. There were multiple people behind me and she’s yelling out asking me very personal questions that should have been completely confidential. I work in the medical field, I understand how busy it can be. Doesn’t mean you need to embarrass people or be rude. I’ve never heard anything good about this woman from multiple people or my interactions with her. I unfortunately will be looking for another pharmacy because of her as have many others."
