"If you have any scuffles between them and your insurance company, good luck hoping to pay for the treatment of your wound while you can’t work. They charged me out of pocket $270 and $325 for just the room itself. They just believed my insurance would cover it but they didn’t. They will charge you this too, because that is just the cost of stepping into one of their rooms even if the doctor barely glances at your wound. Second time the doctor just unwrapped my wound, stared at it, and got a nurse to recap it. Their patient advocacy doesn’t pick up the phone and I am being stuck facing down an almost $700 bill that I had no way of expecting. That’s with my insurance covering half the bill already and trying to avoid paying for the baseline code they use for a room. I have called billing, the clinic itself and advocacy and all Kootenai will offer me is a payment plan, they refuse to negotiate. Mind you this was for a G0463, a medical code that costs an average of $106 in Idaho. Don’t accept medical supplies from them either, they won’t tell you but they’ll charge you 200%ish or more of market rate for each item you leave with. Don’t work with their Soundhealth partners, they’ll send medical supplies to your house you didn’t ask for and charge $50 for 4 bandaids as well. I feel taken advantage of and abused in my time of need by another branch of Kootenai in my time of need. I am still fighting for my money but they are making it very difficult to get any justice."
