St Lukes Family Medicine Pediatrics Rehabilitation

"My husband was transferred in the middle of the night from tri-state hospital in clarkston Washington to St Lukes in meridian idaho with renal failure and afib plus out of control diabetes. He needed to be released to a rehab facility near our home 6 hours away. I want to complement Rachel in case management. She is phenomenal and such care. She kept working till she found a place for my husband. I really appreciate all of her help and expertise. I also would like to praise his nurse Rhee on the 4th floor. The staff answering the main phone were very pleasant and helpful (except "John") who must be new. So far it has been a good experience"

"I'm going to start with the fact that I am 40 and grew up in the Boise area. I moved away for 10 yrs due to a job and my family moved back. I have 4 boys, 19, 18, 14, and 1 month old. I stated this, for a bit deeper understanding of my past experience with health care workers and doctors. I have moved so many times that I have lost count how many different Dr's I have had, but in all my yrs I never knew that a family Dr could be as honest, knowledgeable, understanding, and passionate about helping me with ANY concerns or issues I have. Kelly Pennings and her assistants have set the bar so high, I fear I will never be happy with another. My past Dr would tell me that I have irregular thyroid issues and prescribed meds. That was it. I had no idea what my levels were or what they meant. Dr. Pennings took the time to help me understand what I was facing. This is only a small example. The biggest and most memorable example or her service was the birth of my last son. She saved his life and made sure I did not need to worry while somehow calling for additional help. He wasn't breathing for some time and got stuck coming out. She acted so quickly, we were not alerted to a real potential problem until he started breathing and screaming. She acted calmly like business as usual. She took care of me throughout the whole process and as our family Dr, also took extremely great care of my son. I would recommend her to anyone!! I can't say enough great things about her and her staff!"
