"Nice new location, safe reliable care, and manipulative up-selling. I like this childcare program (for the most part), but I am a little annoyed by the tactics they use with our kids to guilt-squeeze parents for more money. Example: There’s some art program available for the kids. Apparently it’s one afternoon per week, and costs something like $60/month per kid. At face value, that’s fine, whatever. If we weren’t already paying a good chunk for the same block of time for childcare, it’s probably not a bad deal for materials and instruction. But instead of sending home a flyer or email about it and leaving it at that, a teacher will (1) ambush you while you’re picking up your kids, (2) put you and your kids right on the spot when it’s the end of the day and you just want to go home “Did you tell mom / dad how much you liked the art class?” and (3) proceed to sell this class to the parents because it’s soo fun and your kids really liked it- Don’t worry, that first session we took the liberty of putting your kids in before you picked them up was on the house! Afterwards, there’s the unpleasant drive home when you have to try to explain to your (tired and now upset) kids why you won’t in fact be shelling out extra $$$ for art lessons (sorry kids, our schedules change a lot, and you’ll probably miss more art class than you’ll attend, + we already have you enrolled in a bunch of other pricey sports and activities... and blah blah otherboringparentexcuses- all the kids really hear is “no” anyways. And now we, the parents are the bad guys). Uhg. Aside from that stuff, Trinity is great. I would recommend it to others who need after school childcare."
