"My 2.5 year old daughter (2 years 9 months) has been attending Children's Montessori Center on Pines in Spokane Valley full-time since she was 11 months old. Over time, she has progressed from their infant classroom through both the younger and older toddler rooms and is now in the "Voyager" preschool classroom. I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist (currently employed full-time with a school district) with a background in early childhood education. I am cautious and, given previous work experiences, was very methodical when searching for an early learning center for my daughter. I have been consistently impressed with the quality of the care my daughter receives from the infant classroom where I felt my daughter was not just looked after but truly cared for. Her infant teacher moved to the younger toddlers and still says hi to our daughter when she sees her in the hallway between classes. It's very sweet and encouraging that the childcare and early learning providers at CMCI so obviously care about the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of the children in their care. From enrichment, cuddles, and consistent caregiver attention in the Infant Room to the wild dance parties, circle time activities, and arts/sensory projects of the younger and older Toddler Classrooms to the current preschool classroom with her friends she's known since she was a baby, high quality Montessori work and open-ended play options, and teachers/guides who are helping her to develop her sense of independence and curiosity about the world around her I have been incredibly satisfied with this center. They are DCYF licensed and have earned the "Level 3 Early Achievers" title for consistent and high-quality early child education over the years. I love how the teachers in her current preschool room tailor how they play with each student on the playground to how that specific child prefers to be engaged with. I have heard that occasionally a preschool teacher goes out of their way to help to meet the sensory and proprioceptive needs of the 2 and 3 year old in their care whether that's through "heavy work" gross motor play options on the playground, fine motor activities, or encouraging use of their varied outdoor playground toys and structures to help meet those developmentally appropriate needs. From a busy, stressed, full-time working mama - thank you CMCI for taking such wonderful care of my little person. It means the world to me and I would recommend CMCI to any parent looking for quality, individualized, nurturing care for their little ones."
"My son has been coming here since he was 4 months old and he loves it! I'm quite fond of the montessori philosophy and individualized care it fosters. I feel like every other week my son is sent home with a project they worked on in class which is a neat bonus."
"I don't even have kids who attend nor would I ever! They way they treat these kids is disgusting! I've seen two back to back bad experience within an hour of being in the parking lot (Had an appointment for another place in the building) If you have kids here, They're not safe!"
"This school was great!!! My son was only here for about 7 months shortly before he started kindergarten. I immediately noticed him trying to spell and wanting to do math with number magnets on the fridge! The curriculum is great and effective! I was very pleased with his teachers also! Thavy, Thalia and Michelle were wonderful! Five stars all around. Thank you all!"
"I know nothing of this place except that EVERY SINGLE time I pull up to work (5 days a week) the workers of this place are CONSTANTLY on their phones. Kids playing on toys at least 1 adult in the corner on her phone if not 2. Not for just a moment either, I have sat and waited for up to 10 minutes on multiple occasions and it is not a brief moment on phones. It is grown adults who are supposed to be supervising very small children (all seem to be under 4) on their phones non stop! Even transporting 4 children across the parking lot just this morning and a worker was on her phone the entire time, didn't look either way when crossing the parking lot. I am extremely concerned for these children and the amount of or lack of attentiveness! If you're children go here and you've had multiple incident reports I would bet that it is from the lack of responsibility these women truly have as child care providers!"
