"Since new ownership of the Hertz Franchise the service has been awesome, the new employees have went above and beyond to make the rental process so much better. While I was at the desk their were 3 other individuals who had cars reserved with Enterprise and they were told they had no cars!!! Hertz helped get these people in cars and they were cheaper than the "other guys also"!!! Great people, smooth rental, 5 stars."
"First, I write this on this location because I rented a car form Miami to Garden City. The experience in the pick up location (Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, FL) was ok, the car was good and the man in the counter could smile a bit more. On the road everything was perfect, no problems with the car (Chevrolet Malibu). The only complain I have is when you receive the receipt in your email and get surprised. I was charged by $300 more because they say I returned it one day and one hour extra late. That is wrong. I returned it on time and even one hour before in perfect conditions. I hope they can fix it as soon as possible. Let me suggest something. If you do not have a credit card you cannot rent a car in Hertz. Very bad thing for those who don't have a credit card. As well as for people with no Driver Licensed from the States. I would recommend asking the customer first before closing the contract and sending the receipt to confirm the person agreed with the final amount. No surprises would be better for us. If someone ask me to recommend to rent with Hertz i honestly recommend them because it is a good company but wait for the receipt when ou drop off."
"Rented a one-way car from Louisvillle KY to Garden City because of flight cancellations. Read the reviews and was a little concerned because of the bad reviews. Returned the car on Friday at 2:30 and of course no one was at the counter, so we called the number and they said just write the time of return on the contract and drop it in the box, which we did. When I received my bill it was for an additional days rent. When I reviewed my bill is said I did not return it until the following day at 8:00 a.m. I have been e-mailing back and forth for a month and they refuse to refund my money without "proof" of when I returned the car. I just about didn't rent from Hertz because others said you couldn't trust them, I should have listened. Do not rent from Garden City Hertz unless you are really desperate!"
"One our employees rented a car from this location. When we received the final rental receipt there was a $300 "drop charge" added to the bill, even though the vehicle was returned to the same location. I went online with the corporate customer service and they had agreed to reverse the charge, but then said they couldn't because they were a licensee of Hertz and I would have to call then directly. I called and talked to one employee who said he would investigate and get back with me. He called back and said it was actually a cleaning fee for $300 because our employee smoked in the car. I called the employee and confirmed he did not smoke in the vehicle- he is a non-smoker. I called back again and I asked for the same employee who wasn't available, so I asked for the manager. She said she would check into it and call back. 3 days later I had not heard from her so I called back, and she was not in. I called back the next day and she was off again. I tried again with Hertz corporate, but they same they have no control over what the licensee does. As the other reviewers have stated, avoid this location and maybe Hertz in general when renting cars!"
"This is one of the worst Hertz I have ever rented from. You WILL have issues, read the whole post to see the issues I had multiple times. There are a few in this area that are independently owned by the same person I believe and if you are reading this I would NOT rent from them, much rather go with a different rental company as I have had, and if you rent from them you probably WILL have, multiple issues with them. Issue 1: I rented my vehicle from Wichita airport & had to drive to Garden City & turn the vehicle in. I had the vehicle for 1 week, for work, and then turned it in. No one was at the desk, because they are only open for 2 hours a day, so I left my key and the mileage/gas info in the drop box. Expecting that to be it I thought nothing of it. Here a few weeks later I'm getting multiple calls and emails saying that my vehicle is overdue and they would suspend my renting privileges if the vehicle was not turned in within 24 hours and that I am going to have to pay overdue charges. As you can understand I'm a little annoyed because I turned the vehicle in on time and I don't want to be penalized for the employees mistake of not doing the paperwork. I call the helpline and they transfer me to garden city hertz where I had to leave a voicemail (to which no one returned my calls) because they were not open. Then I eventually get in contact with billing and they transfer me to Wichita where they said they can't do anything because Wichita hasn't received the paperwork yet from Garden City and that they sent an email for it to be closed as soon as possible. A few days later a representative from Wichita calls me and it was finally closed and I got the overdue charges dropped. This was all an unnecessary hassle. I eventually went into the Hertz located in town (same independent owner) because I had to get another rental and drive to El Paso, TX (for work). I was telling the woman how bad the Garden City airport Hertz was because of the hassle I just went through, to which she told me she was the general manager and that the Hertz was all owned by the independent owner and that the issue was Wichita's fault and that Wichita wasn't the one doing the paperwork properly. When in reality Wichita was the one that got all of my stuff settled. However, I had NO ISSUE at all when I turned my vehicle in at the El Paso airport because they actually did my paperwork properly at the El Paso Airport Hertz location. Issue 2: Decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and once again rent from this Hertz, for work, again from Wichita to Garden City. I had a same day return on August 31, 2019. And this issue is the reason I am writing this horrible review. I landed around noon or so and grabbed a rental and drove it to Garden City where I returned the vehicle about 5pm or so. Once again, no one was there so this time I took a video of me returning the car, gas mileage, inside outside, everything just because deep down I had a feeling something would go wrong again. To which I was right and it DID. Today is September 20, almost a month later I just now get a charge of $1,036 to my credit card from Hertz. Which I'm very confused about because I haven't rented in about a month. I call the Hertz hotline and they look up my info in the system and when I rented the vehicle and they say that charge was for having the rental overdue. To which I told them that makes absolutely no sense because this time I have proof that I returned the vehicle on the same day that I rented it so there should not be any overdue charges. After a few minutes of talking with the representative on the billing helpline he told me that the charge is wrong and will go away in about 5-7 business days. So if you want to add complete unnecessary stress to your days, then by all means rent from Hertz. But if you don't want stress and hassle in your life DONT rent from them. I will walk the 206 miles from Wichita to Garden City before I ever rent from that Hertz location again."
