"My last trip here with my aunt was ridiculous. She is disabled and uses a wheel chair. The machine moves (very standard) so she should have been able to stay seated in her chair. However- the woman then makes an incredibly rude comment about her stomach being “too large” and the only option was for her to stand during the mammogram. While my aunt apologized and felt very bad about having to take breaks to sit- the woman was very impatient and essentially gave up on getting a full image. She has previously had a biopsy so she has a good reason to want a full work up. They said they couldn’t see anything of concern on the partial image and sent her home- not even attempting to use an ultrasound or any other diagnostic imaging equipment. To ice the cake of the woman being rude and unfriendly- when asking how patients who are unable to leave their mobility device get their scans she replied “if they can’t stand they just can’t”. We told her how ableist that was and she LAUGHED. If you enter healthcare you need to have compassion. ESPECIALLY in a very sensitive and often scary appointment for women/people in need of these services. This woman couldn’t get rid of us quick enough and made my aunt feel so terrible. This place is not accessible- wheelchairs cannot clear the doorway easily. They are in a hospital, this is unacceptable. They are providing a very important service I just wish it had been a better experience. The front desk agent was so incredibly nice and helpful- i feel that is important to note."

"I had to go in for a breast tissue biopsy. I was scared and nervous. The staff explained everything before the procedure started. And went through the explanation again as the procedure was done. They asked frequently how I was doing and if I had any questions. They went out of their way to put my mind at ease. The carnation at the end of the appointment made my day"
