Reviews of Ontario BottleDrop Redemption Center
"I am from idaho sometimes I have to buy soda Pop in idaho I have pay Texas soda pop there your 10 cents But how yall know oregon people's go somewhere in idaho buy soda pops Sametime.. Think about that "who" work there"
"Won't accept cans from Idaho despite being a mile from Idaho. Makes no sense. Why not charge an out of state rate for them? Then everybody wins. Last time I was there EVERY car in the parking lot was from Idaho. Never had a problem with recycling and I've been doing it for 40 years. Stupid Oregon lefties"
"People that work here are absolutely rude. I stood around waiting for over t minutes and 3 employees were chit chatting with each other about getting drunk and nobody asked if I needed up. I'm new to Oregon and wasn't sure of the process. Have better customer service"
"They refuse to recycle if you live in Idaho, which means more bottles go to the landfill! This should be illegal. They will stand outside and watch you pull up and if you have Idaho plates, they walk to your car and refuse your bottles. You can then show them an Oregon drivers license if you have one. Many Idahoans buy in Ontario since it’s on the border and tax-free, yet this Bottle Drop won’t take their bottles. Idahoans are charged the fee, but can’t get their money back unless they have a friend that lives in Oregon who is willing to take them to recycle their bottles. You can also provide receipts that show you bought them in Oregon, but if you have 100 bottles, you must have 100 receipts! It’s just so stupid and ridiculous. This was my first time coming to this Bottle Drop. I live in Oregon, luckily, so I wasn’t stopped, but I watched as others were. The whole time, I felt like I was being watched—like I was a criminal! I put my bottles in the machine. You have to make sure it is able to read the bar code or it will say it doesn’t accept that brand. It won’t accept the large bottles like the big juice bottles. If you have a bottle that the barcode is missing or can’t be read by the machine, you can give it to the lady at the counter but you will NOT get money for it. Once you are finished with your bottles at the machine, you push the button to print out a bar code. Then you take the printout to another machine to have it scanned and it will spit out your money. Pretty simple. I just don’t like the “policing” that goes on there. Oh, and be prepared for lots of flies!"
"No matter were your from if you buy drinks in Oregon you pay a deposit on the cans the drinks come in. If we are charged a deposit we should be allowed to return our cans for our money back. What good is it to save our receipts when the receipts fade and become unreadable. I end up with a bag of useless cans and a drawer full of useless paper. I thought it was all about recycling any ways. If we cant get our deposits refunded we shouldn't be charged a deposit."
